Different people like different things. I'm loving CO and will probably play it for a long time (got me a lifetime sub). Judging by the number of people constantly playing on the CO Open Beta, a lot of people are enjoying it too. However it's not for everyone. Some people just don't like superheroes that much, or prefer WoW or what have you. That's okay. Say it with me: It's okay for other people to like other things. Champions is a great game, and perfectly capable of coexisting alongside WoW or Aion or whatever. They're different and give you different experiences. Someone once said 'Variety is the spice of life.', there's no need to fight about which game is better. If you enjoy it, play it, I know I will be. If you don't enjoy it, that's fine, play something else. Everyone's happy. "Because it's easier to nitpick something than to be constructive." -roach5000 |

No limitations or waiting for someone to give you a piece...make Neo, Make Hulk, Make a Gi-Joe, Make the Terminator, Makea Sith, Make aelven Warrior. LOL CO is all games in one! |

My opinion is pretty much the opposite. For me, CO combat has been much faster paced and "heroic" feeling than CoH was. CoH always felt very slow to me for a superhero game - it felt much more like every other fantasy-based MMO in its pacing and format. Case in point, the adherence to The Trinity that CoH has, which in my opinion does not fit well with the superhero genre. CO, so far, does a better job of bucking that trend, though it still has elements of the Trinity included. As stated above, the powers and pacing of combat in CO do a better job of giving a superheroic experience, in my opinion. I don't pretend to know if the game will have long-lasting appeal, but it seems to have a good foundation from which to work. Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned. |

Actually I think they have a lot in common.... I think CO is more of a "CoH clone" than WAR or LotRO is a "WoW clone" sounds, colors, character creation designs, combat to an extent, character models, pretty much everything. That's how I see it but I understand people see things differently so to each their own. I'm as right as you are when it comes to opinion. |

Originally posted by ayanel I'm wondering what powers you've tried? That's something I noticed - not all powers are good, and some are so good that you suffer for not taking them. A lot of the powers really are unspectacular. I went back to the training room so many times when I tried a sorcerer to get rid of dud powers after trying them "in the field". The summoning ones were completely useless. The buff effects from the auras were pretty weak. Circles weren't much better, apart from the energy regen one. Even when I made my way to tier 3, my absolute best and most used power was still my starting attack, followed at a distance by block and heal. |

I don't know much about the Sorcerer powerset, but many of the powersets have very impressive powers. The sorcerer powerset seems to be geared more towards support type stuff, lots of buffs & heals. |

I have to agree with this. And theres not much variety either, most skills work in the same way just look different and maybe have a different random effect like chills and fear etc. The only good pets are the gadgeteering ones, the munition bots and healing drones are awesome. And the energy building attack is really fast.
So far ive noticed that telepathy and that other power in same category are best in pvp so far. They have an amazing heal, good dps and rooting abilities. Whenever i went against them as lets say any of the elemental powers i would take off 50% of their hp and they would just heal and kill me since i have no efficient heals. A lot of skill balancing must be done. Overall thought this is a fun game even though it kicks my eyes in the face with constant jumpy action and the art style. End up with bloodshot eyes after a few hours. (this isnt a complaint about the graphics, just saying its not very healthy for your eyes) |
