Mythic killed the game, nobody else to blame, no other MMO to blame. This patch just show how Mythic isn't in touch with the reality. This game has been out for a little over a year now and while the servers are bleeding out subscribers, Mythic release bug fix, they say... -Mailbox artwork been redone -The game will now skip logo intro when it has successfully launched once. Meanwhile there is a postern door in South Keep in Praag that is still broken, been broken for months now. And the z-axis of AoE dmg of Magus is still broken, now does anyone else see the problem? This is a small example, I could relate tons, but this example is easy to understand. |

Did they ever fix the ability for some classes to "pass" through doors that were still up (back doors). I know witch elf and witch hunter had that, never worked. |

My g/f and I tried returning about a month ago (we played for about 4 months in the past) and were turned off right away. Within 10 minutes of making a new toon we experienced combat bugs right away. We tried to give it a second chance but if a company doesnt fix simple bugs such as these by now we didnt feel they deserved our hard earned cash. /quit x2
Anyway..just though I'd give our impressions of Mythic after giving it a second go.... "Mom, I play Tera for the gameplay I swear!!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-2paFdRw_U |

Like the artist who redid the mailbox art would have no business working on game mechanics, so they would do things of this nature. It isn't like they can sit around and ignore small stuff just because there are bigger issues.
Really I think Mythic does understand the issues, but for whatever reasons people want to pick, they are unable to resolve them. |

Looking forward to the patch being deployed, around noon they say. Looks to have some very nice fixes and additions. I'm glad they are finally doing something with that awful mailbox. :D |

Funny thing about this thread, is Mythic has almost nothing to do with WAR anymore. The company has been dissolved for months now.
Mark Jacobs has been fired for a while now, and almost all the employees who used to work for Mythic are gone. If you wanna blame someone blame EA / Bioware. They're calling the shots now, and I really wouldn't put it passed EA to try and sabatoge their own game to try and boost hype for KotOR. They may not be trying to do that, but if you want to blame someone for WAR's latest patch, point the finger in the correct direction. Mythic screwed up the initial design, failed to stop the bleeding of it's populations, and then got gutted by EA and replaced. I don't have the most current numbers, but I think there are a little less than 20% of the original employees from Mythic still working there and almost none of them were the ones calling the shots. |

Where on earth did you get this absolute nonsence that Mythic was dissolved? For your information quite a few of the devs that where working on WAR have gone back to DAoC.
I honestly believe the vast majority of the people on this board don't know *anything*.

Originally posted by aesperus I drive by Mythic regularly and for a company that has been dissolved they still have that entire building to themselves, what about the people working on UO which is in the same building, are they still there or did they vanish as well? That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming! |

You are aware that EA acquired Mythic some time ago, they are no longer their own company, nor do they have the ability to split off. While EA still holds the name (and it's association with WAR), very little remains of the original company. For all practical purposes it has been dissolved. The majority of their work force was fired, they are no longer calling the shots. They may still have the label, but they are not the same company anymore. As I stated, EA / Bioware is calling the shots now, and have been for months. |

Mythic had nothing to do with any problems in the game. I would blame any problem any body has had on EA. EA is allot like SOE with star wars. They buy a company and destroy everything good about the company. Then put out crap or kill a good game. |

Today we have important news to share with the community. EA is restructuring its RPG and MMO games development into a new group that includes both Mythic and BioWare. This newly formed team will be led by Ray Muzyka, co-founder and General Manager of BioWare. With this change, Ray becomes Group General Manager of the new RPG/MMO studio group. BioWare’s other co-founder, Greg Zeschuk will become Group Creative Officer for the new RPG/MMO studio group. Rob Denton will step up as General Manager of Mythic and report to Ray. BioWare’s studios remain unchanged and continue to report to Ray. Mark Jacobs, current General Manager of Mythic will leave EA on June 23, 2009. We thank Mark for his contributions at Mythic and wish him the very best going forward. Mark played a major part in the success of Mythic with his contribution as General Manager and Lead Designer of WAR. Mythic retains a strong team led by Rob who co-founded Mythic in 1995. Rob played a critical role in the development of Dark Age of Camelot. In his previous role as COO, he was responsible for all day-to-day management of the studio including all development, operations and support. Please join us in celebrating the union of these two award-winning studios. http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=841 |

There is no way hiding that WAR will be put on minimum life support from now on. There are to many issues with the game to fix - so its easier just to skip fixing them. Mythic or no Mythic... Its over. |

I am still playing and having fun and as long as I am that is all I care about. A broken door somewhere in Praag doesn't kill the game for me. There are bugs, sure, A lot of them but I play to relax so I am not going to have a conniption fit over bugs. |

Maybe you should get some facts before posting wrong assumptions. Let me rephrase Andy_Mythic comments about the "merge": "We're still Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts Studio, as we have been. I've posted this elsewhere, but we're not 'merging.' We are still a completely separate entity within EA, just as Bioware is, simply now grouped under the same MMO/RPG grouping and reporting to one person, collectively." There is lots of post in this matter at massively.com Mythic will continue to develop Warhammer Online. No doubt about that.

In my book War is getting better patch by patch, and I for one enjoy it right now. Come 1.3.1. and the keep changes its gonna be an even better game. Could it have been better from launch ? - Yup like Wow & Swg & DAOC Are there still issues ? - Yup like any other game theres still issues, my biggest grief is lag at times but thats about it. |
