It was my first time playing Aion lastnight, it is a nice looking game and the over all enviroment is nice. But as i lvled(grinded) to level 7, I found myself searching for quests. Usually you can obtain 5 to 10 quests in the starter area, i think i only got 3, and i spent some time running around trying to finish these quests, they have you running along ways, and this is the starter area! As the game progressed i found myself finishing quests higher lvl then I was, so i was forced to grind some just to gain a lvl. As a noob to Aion, the progression of a new player wasnt the best experience for myself, they could have made the newbie area a bit more smooth with alot of quests to get you on the way, but i will continue to test this game out, overall as the levels are coming, the game is starting to open up a bit, just hate the grinding in the lower levels, kinda scary what the high lvls have to offer. |

i'm level 13 right now and it doesn't get much better. right now i'm out of quests and i can't get new ones until i hit 14, so i have to mob grind level 13 in its entirety. sound fun? nope. that's why i'm browsing forums. |

More crap about the grind and no quests. The game has quests. You may not like what they are and you may have to group to do them (at level 18 or so) but the game has quests. I have some issues about Aion, which are stated here on the boards but if this is all youve got youve got nothing. |

Yea I guess I was leaning towards an account password being changed and given to me, if you were done with it for the weekend. I think that would work, on the NCSoft side of things anyway. |

Well sorry if you want to get to max lvl in a week or less Aion is harder but still not that slow how the OP is saying. I played it only once and got to max and didn't took me much so it's your problem if you don't know how to play. |

You shouldn't be even coming close to running out of quests, until you hit level 16 or so. For the first 10 levels, you should actually have more quests than you need to get to 10 (a quest you get at lvl 9 even levels you to 10 regardless of how much exp you have at 9, so you if you want to you can skip the rest and get to 10 immediately to leave the starter area). However, it needs to be said that the questing content is nowhere near that of WoW/EQ2 (even when they releas ed).
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed. |

How are you guys not finding quest? I've abandon a whole bunch of them because I out leveled them.
You talking to the NPC's with the blue arrows over their heads?

And more quests are added with 1.1 , 1.2 and 1.5 . Its kinda stupid for them to give us "preview" / test the game in 1.0 since in the release we will have many bug fixed, many quests to reduce grinding, lots of UI fixes like more camera options and lots of content. |

The real question is...why is doing 10 quests to kill 100 mobs less of a grind than simply kiling 100 mobs in the first place? If you get lots of xps for doing a quest turn in that simply means they require more xps per level in the first place. I compare quest grinding to a store raising the price of an item by 50% then having a grand "sale" and giving you a huge 40% discount. You are still paying more than a normal price...just because they advertise a huge discount does not mean you are gettting one. How many people who complain about quests actually read the quests and follow the storyline? I know a handfull of people do but the vast majority dont really care about the text of the quest. Would it not be simpler to just decrease the leveling curve and get rid of the xp reward for all quests? |
