I was on the forums a few days ago talking with my friends about Aion. They say that I should never pick Aion up again because of the crazy long grind. The game is extremely lineaar, and worse yet, the graphics are last gen, but beautiful. So, Aion, it's a game that makes you think that if you're new to MMOs join "ME", but NCsoft is creating an illusion that's bad for MMO vets and starters. Here's the truth of Aion... MMO vets hate the linear portion of Aion, but it must be there for those who are new to MMOs. However, the long grind, about 400 hours gets very boring and complicated, thus the new people will grow bored and quit. However, for the select few who can stand the boring linear 400 hour grind, then there is light at the end of the tunnel. Large scale PvP, Aion's very fun, fast, exhiliarating and intense endgame PvP pays off. However, once again, noobs will not be able to perform in this environment causing them to quit. I believe that Aion is already a success in the Asian market, but for North America and Europe. Either the linear, grindy, and boring leveling system is going to kill off the MMO vets, and the complicated, fast-pace, intense, crazy PvPvE system is going to kill off the noobs. But, like I stated: Aion is already a success, so plz don't say this game is going to fail world wide. |

Do you think you could pick some lottery tickets for me bro? Because if your speculation truly is as accurate as you seem to think it will be, then you must be a psychic. |

You make some good points. Its is Linear, it is a bit of a long haul to max level , the crafting is a grind. I for one realise all that, im not looking for a sandbox atm, ive got time to grind and looking forward to some pvp fun.

I was suprised at the small amout of quests even at low lvl....so ended up grinding a few trash to just lvl a bit and move to next area, if that is what the game is about then im already having second thoughts about it. Also I couldnt find any pvp minigames....is this a serious pvp game without any mini-games? just once zone to fight in?.....sounds very restrictive |

What ive seen since level 18 or so is you have to fight elites to get to a new area only to pick up more quests to fight the same elites. Now i dont mind fighting elites but even with a decent group it gets a bit old. Especially as the only thing to do is grind crabs, which is a quest you can do over and over, while waiting on the group to go kill the elites. To be fair i havnt tried much crafting and it may well relieve some of the boredom while waiting but im not sure how one can wait for a group in one area while crafting in the capitol city, however it may well be able to be done i havnt had to try as ive been lucky to find groups quckly but my thought is how fast one will be able to group after the game has been live for awhile.. What crafting i have done by the way was fun. Im not trashing the game as ive had fun with it so far but i do have some conerns about these issues. |

Is it really worth @$15/ month? That's all that matters. With all the great, free, single-player and multiplayer games out now, that should be easy to answer. Not that there aren't millions of players out there wishing MMORPGs were what they used to be and willing to try it for a month or two. |

I was trying to explain just that to my friends this weekend, just that! I think might just be pretty much spot on. I would love to play their end-game PVP, but I am not sure I can put up with the PVE grind because it is just so 'samey', its not bad, it is polished and I am sure pre-wow we would all have lapped it up...now though, I can't stand the thought of 400 hours to get to anything fun. |

Demon's Souls is absolutely amazing. I imported a chinese copy a few months ago (funnily enough, around the same time I was playing on a KR Aion account) and it will haunt your dreams! Best PS3 exclusive by miles IMO. |
