Breaking news from ZAM! ""A source close to the event indicated that it is possible some playable form of Final Fantasy XIV could be on display. Recent announcements would also seem to hint at a demo being available to attendees in some shape or form."
Olol looks like beta starting in Jan-feb is not that far fetched idea. If a game has all the features of WoW, its nothing but a WoW clone, but if it lacks any of them, its incomplete. |

Def going to be looking forward to this.... Looking at all the info about FFXIV has made me start playing FFXI again... I just hope they dont make FFXIV too easy or another wow clone... it scares me when they keep saying "they want it more accessible for everyone" |

Given the amount of info S-E had released in the timeframe since the first annoucement of 14 (compared to prev Final Fantasy's), I think it's pretty safe to say they're fairly well off into development. At the very least, it seems they have all the basic graphical assets completed, including base armor and at least a few zones. It wouldn't be inconceivable for them to implement some basic zone with rudimentary elements from the Armoury System and Guildleve system for the con. As for beta, I don't think they're quite there yet. Maybe JP companies are more secretive than NA, but there just doesn't seem to be enough information released to make it seem like they have a partially finalized build of the game yet. My earliest reasonable bet for beta would be summer 2010 (and that is earliest). After all, beta is only for balance testing, stress testing, general debugging, and to create some pre-launch hype. And let's not forget, it's very possible the primary phase of the beta test will be limited to JP players, if for nothing else than easier communication between developers and players. -a |

That's just the way SE works when it comes to MMO's, they don't release info that isn't 100% finalized and even then they'll keep it hidden until week before beta begins most likely =P. My own guess would be february '10 beta and fall release, we'll see what happens.

I don't know about beta but I'm thinking this game will come out at least a month or 2 after FFXIII, I dont see SE leaving the order and pushing 14 before 13 or too close to the release date since it might hurt 13's US sales if they are too close together. |

Aww man someone beat me to it!! Anyways yeah nothing to much to worry about since it looks and feels like XI but you can solo that one sheep bird thing... well at least till they jump your ass. XD Also to tell, it is from the PC built of the game as you can tell from the mouse. |
