I think doing the 6 month deal is a much better idea personally unless you have extra money to throw around. |

I do admit that I haven't buy the lifetime subscription for LOTRO, that why this time I will seriously thinking about buying a lifetime for CO. CO looks like a promising game and worth to spend the time on them, especially Cryptic knows what they are doing. as for LOTRO, I still regret and struggling between buying the subscription or not after many months of subscription lol!! I hope they will again having a discount on their lifetime subscription fee !!! |

The game hooked me right away. $200 is definitely worth a lifetime sub for me. Most of the MMOs I've played over the years would have saved me lots of money if they had a similar deal. Insert random misqoute here |

No game is worth paying more than the retail price for. Not today. Not with all the great games out and coming soon that are free to play once you buy the retail box/download. |

I will say im glad AOC didnt offer that sub option at release. That game was good until after level 20 or so as was Warhammer. I play alot so they wouldnt have gotten me but a lot of casual players that wouldnt be too far after the free 30 days would have had sore wallets in those two examples. I would have to play a newly released game at least 3 months to even consider that option. But thats just me. |

Wonder how long it will be before someone has the balls to offer 24/7 access for extra charge. "" Voice acting isn't an RPG element....it's just a production value." - grumpymel2 |

Wonder how long it will be before someone has the balls to offer 24/7 access for extra charge. You have 8 slots to start with. Don't forget there is only one server, so how many of your 72 characters are on the same server because last time I check it was 10 slot per server,

i wouldnt opp into a game for lifetime membership untill i get a chance to see the play. same deal with LOTR online which i could have OPTed into for but chose not to and am glad i didnt now it was a good game but definately not something i could see my self playing for years on-end like i have been WoW. WoW definately needs a lifetime membership option something id definately go for. just for the fact ive been playing for 4 years already and havent decided to leave as of yet. but then again i have played all end game content. |

All the speculation is great but the bottom line is you can play OB starting this afternoon, decide for yourself, and then subscribe as appropriate or not. Knowing what I know about this game and myself I subbed for 6 months. There are other games coming out (MMOs and NON-MMOs) that have my attention but I can see this game giving me a good six months or more. I hope more but that will depend on the devs adding content and features that ARE NOT in the item mall. I know lots of people who participated in the closed beta and are jumping all over lifetime and six month subs so there is definately an audience appeal to those who have played it. First and foremost they love the Supers Genre and for a life time sub you better too. |

Make long short.
How much money have you spent on WoW?
I know some ppl will argue that WoW is handsdown better but I'm not such a big fan of WoW. When I look at WoW I see nothing new, instants, raids, massive PvE content, solid PvP content but everyone has been done before BUT champion online's customization seems interesting a concept I haven't seen in a MMO before.
my vote is if you plan going hardcore on it then its worthwhile |

200 is 20 months of sub to break even. That assumes no breaks or time spent in another MMO. I've been in closed beta since Cryptic invited pretty much everyone who played CoX some 6 months ago. I am not buying a lifetime, 6 month or even a box on launch. This game might be finished by the holiday season but Sept 1, no. What CO did do though is drive home who much Cryptic got right with CoX. So I will finish the beta that I agreed on but probably resub to CoX before I sub to CO. But who knows maybe today's monster OB patch will be a miracle patch, happened for AoC so its possible. Bigger reason not to lifetime... I have a shelf of MMOs and no patience for standing around waiting on content. Figure by the time I revisit AoC, LotRO, CoX, Aion... CO might be ready for primetime. And then when I run through the tiny content of CO, the EQ2 expansion should be out. Rinse and repeat :P Welcome to the new reality. |
