Batman: Arkham Asylum demo is out. So far it seems like a pretty solid title. The combat looks amazing.

Check it out.

The demo's great.  The way you can swoop down, attack, then shoot back up to the rafters with the grappling hook is perfect.  I replayed the last room about 20 times just to find different ways to take guys out.

Yeah I love finding new ways to take em out. Used one guy to lure 2 to him and then used a batarang to cut him down on top of them ahhh the joy of confusion. I use to just take out the guy right next to the vent but found it boring. Now I have to pick 360 or PC as the 360 is a few weeks early. But after seeing the graphics on my PC and knowing it works with modding I think Im rolling that.

Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day.
And then Nebraska would get nerfed.-pinkwood lotro fourms

G4 got to talk to none other than Kevin Conroy (The voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne from Batman: The Animated Series) at the San Diego Comic Con. About him once again playing the voice of Batman, in upcoming video game Batman: Arkham Asylum. If your a fan of Batman:TAS or just a Batman fan in general? This is quite a fun interview to watch with this legendary voice over actor. Sorry I geeked out there a little, lol.

When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there!

I am a superhero fan, yet Batman Arkham Asylum never got on my gaming radar, though knew about the game, it was not untill Fileplanet released the demo I thought why not try it atleast.

And the demo did it for me indeed, going to buy the game as it seems lot's of fun and like been said it has some nice reply value even in the far to short demo, but nevertheless the demo did convince me getting the game.

I think modding will put the PC version way above the console versions.  Being able to play as the joker is nothing compared to what modders can do on the PC.

Either way its good to have Batman back in the gothic world of the comic books.  I like how it borrows a little bit from the Nolan movies but is more true to the source material.

I have no doubt it will be a solid title but I question the overall value of the game. Like most narrative based linear action games... they are good for about one go and thats it. Since the game will appear on consoles as well, its fairly obvious that the developers have a size limit, thus limiting the length of the title. Console based action games tend to have only a few hours of gameplay. Furthermore the developers put in hidden "trophies" to find throughout each level. This, while a fun gimmick, is not a good means to create replay value.

Sadly I have no doubt that this is one of those short well polished action games that are not worth the cost, and thus become a favorite for software pirating/torrenting.

I really hope they do well on with the console market though, its rare to see a development company actually use its franchise license well.

The demo is short and while the first portion is basically a tutorial, the later portion allows for different ways of dealing with bad guys.

While I can't be sure how linear the game will actually be, I have a feeling that it will be similar to Splinter Cell in it's replay value. I mean Splinter Cell is mostly linear but because it allows for a different way of dealing with the bad guys, a lot of people found the price to be worth it. I know I did.

Edit: Besides, how many good Batman games are out there?

Why are game "portals" rating a game that isn't even out yet? Yes, I know there's a demo, but that's a demo, not the full game. You can't just rate a game based on the 30 minutes of a demo. For all you know, the demo could've been the best part about the full game.

I'm just cool like that.

thats because usually the game developers give them full retail copys of the game so they can play through and give reviews. theyre not baseing the review off of the demo. i dont know about you but i like to read the reviews a week before the game even drops so i can make a decision on whether its worth buying or not.

I just played the demo and it did help me somewhat with my anger issues getting to beat the shit out of the badguys with super power. Great beat em upper looks like. The game is getting good reviews. I better get to drive the batmobile.
