Simple question. Saw these on the other forums and I figured I'd ask what you guys thought.
Which class will you be rolling as your main?
Personally Im going with either a Cleric or a Ranger. A little undecided... both seem excellent - I enjoy healing and I love the hunter/ranger type classes in most MMOs... so Im stuck between the two. Who knows, maybe by launch Ill end up with something completely different :P

I'm a masochist. Voted Sorcerer (most likely reroll a chanter as well to focus on Abyss).

I positively believe postive thoughts get positive results. |

Gladiator will be my first character with probably a Ranger second. |

Gladiator. From everything I've read they suck, but they are by far my favorite class to play. |

I personally prefer being a healer class but I think this time around I will start off with the Templar. :) |

From everything ive read and from kilkil's rvr post Gladiators sound very good, almost to the point where I do not see the point of having a Templar in pvp due to lack of util in a group (as is my current understanding). Pledge your support to creating a PvP Community on Aion. Join our server on release. |

I played a Gladiator up through 20th and had a blast so my personal experience was great. The one I enjoyed the least (but did not get past about 14th level) was the Spirit Master. |

Chanter, i think it's better to lvl the most difficult class first and the easy ones later. By my experience in wow, lvling a hunter or a warlock first makes you not want to lvl another alter

Yeah lol. I started a lock just to check out the undead start area and ended up being a hardcore raider with it. Even restarted a few mastered professions a few times simply because I didn't want to go through all the levels as a lock again.
But, when I used to search potential guilds cross server, I'd always roll an undead lock....
I also did that with EQ (first mmorpg sub game) and ended up regretting being a human monk versus iksar... but meh. To me it isn't about flavor of the month, but what appeals to you, so hopefully being a caster (I love necro types) won't be a total let down since melee kind of bores me (not to say melee is boring, just not as exciting as spells).

Having been on PvP servers and being tired of it, I've grown adjusted to the masochism of death. So Sorcerer I go. My secondary will be a Templar. I need to compensate for my masochism by being a bit on the defensive side in the latter. |

Not sure to be completely honest. I've always liked hybrid caster/tank, so I'm not too sure what Aion has to offer as far as off-tank classes go, but I'm thinking Templar. ------------------------------ |

I personally play a paladin or paladin like classes in all fantasy games. So Templar for me. Haha, I still have nightmares about the experience penalty EQ1 had on hybrid classes at release. What a nightmare. |

I'm gonna go for something thats close to the "Mesmer" class form guild wars. Classes like that interest me and are usually complicated and not many people play them. But if you become proficient with one you can dominate most anything. For instance Mesmers: against melee or ranged classes i.e. warriors-assassins-dervishes - rangers-paragons= Signet of midnight(blinding) + empathy(deal damage back to themselves) + mantra of resolve(spell casting cant be interrupted) = pwns any melee class. and i may have to go Me/W to put in balanced stance to combat the Knock downs sins can do. against other casters i.e. elementalists-Necromancers-monks-other mesmers(that arent as good as you) = Backfire(every time they cast a spell they take 133 damage)+mantra of resolve+wastrels worry(after 3 seconds it deals 100dmg)+Energy burn = pwns casters. It especially Pwns elementalists really quick.
some thing to that effect...I hope they have a class not exactly like the mesmers but similar... //////////// |

Am going Chanter. Having fun in CB's and almost unkillable 1 on 1 , am only lvl 26 but lots of duels so far and seem fun. Played Aoc/DDO/FFXI/WAR / LoTRo / CO / Aion Waiting for FFXIV to be the game it should. so sad =( |
