Speaking of Lalafell, I'm going to post some cool images I found in a blog over at FFXIVCore in a bit.  Quite enjoyable what people can do with their spare time ;)

Yeah they do look cute! Im a 6' 3" though so I cant envision myself playing a Lalafell :/

I have a preference to play a Elezen but for me, its all about the racial attributes, whatever race is min/max for my preferred playstyle will win out. (min/max or go home)

Elezen sounds like a plan.  Noble race :D

This is good news, I was hoping that they would reveal a whole lot more information at the next GamesCon this year in just a few days, that will be good news.

A whole slew of inromation just came through as a result of Gamescon and our own Zyuu had a chance to sit down with FFXIV's producer Hiromichi Tanaka and ask a few questions!

I'm very happy the see the magazine as just a precursor to see how Square Enix wants to move this information quickly. Square Enix is all about passing a lot of information in a productive manner.

I'm not sure if FFXIV will surpass WoW, but all I know is that it was be the second best MMORPG of all time. I'm so happy Square has put so much time and effort in order to create such epic fantasy. I know working on this game for 6 years is phenomenal.

Sad thing about WoW is its merely a copy-paste MMO in both story and gameplay. Through clever marketing and some lies, they managed to get to the top and stay there. FFXIV will be the better game, though  probably nowhere near as successful as World of Warcraft.  WoW is like Rome, whereas Final Fantasy XIV will be like Sparta in comparison.

I could tell from what Tanaka told me, that the story / lore of FFXIV will be quite grand.  Can't wait.

Truthfully, its not about what the mass public thinks but its more about what the individual who plays the game thinks. Lets face it, WoW is dumbing down to accomodate for those who have a few hours to play a day. With that strategy people with less time (the overwhelming majority of all gamers) will play WoW as opposed to games with steeper time requirements. Even if FFXIV doesn't compete with WoW in terms of subscribers I definitely think it'll be one of the best MMOs to come, it may even be the best one created.

Indeed, still having the "balls" to keep an MMO somewhat challenging is rare these days.  At least for the new generation of MMORPG's.

FFXIV Taru look basically like FFXI Taru + Cactur.
