Awesome!!! Is an understatement I don't post much and I have been playing these mmos forever now. This game has what I have been looking for its a mixture of EQ2 Lineage2 GW and some WoW bits all into one. Don't get me wrong it is very unique in its own way I just like how well it is blended together. I have been playing ffxi for the past 3.5 yrs waiting for something to keep me playing past the first 30 days and this is defenitely it.
NcSoft has done it again and Im so happy. BTW played Lineage 2 for about 3 years as well. |

it's a good game, but it bores me to no end. im a big pvp fanboy, but this game is to linear to me. it has no freedom, only in abyss.. just feels like your achieving nothing to me. - also graphics are horrible ingame. the walls look like complete shit. most games now, i keep asking myself what the fuck am i playing for? this is just lame. it's been a while since i played a mmo that just GRASPS you from your life, and pulls you in. most mmos now .. you dont even know why your playing. i'll be probably waiting for final fantasy 14.

Cryptor got off a quick ninja edit before I could quote him. someone is happy with the game, let them be, you don't have to get snarky. Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats. |

My Two Cents:
i HAVE played the game and am currently playing the closed beta........OP is RIGHT! This game is awesome! I don't know what brand of weed the other poster was smoking so say that Aion does not have good graphics. Aion's graphics arent even a matter of opinion. It's just a fact that they are amazing.
And to all of the haters: Just stop. Seriously. Nobody cares what you have to say. If this game doesnt make you happy, go play something else, if you can find something to satisfy you....proabably not. |

This is a solid MMO as it stands. Wether it has the legs to keep people hooked a few years from now remains to be seen ( grinding - / depth) but I certainly find the game fun. Its not like I'm looking for a life substitute MMO these days (like EQ was), and I think many people like me are just fine with that. At least the game is fully functioning and has plenty of polish, unlike some recent launches. |

It is a grind when it takes for frakking ever to kill a mob - a simple mob. A grind is a grind. I can't imagine what it will be like to get to 50! Forget it. Been there and done that in L2. Each side has one starter area. One! OMG. Seriosuly flawed imbalances to classes, also - like Rangers. OMG can the Ranger class be designed worse than this? I do not think so. Forgive me for thinking this, but seriously. Does anyone honestly think the classes are balanced in this game? Cleric's, I truly feel for them. Those first 20 levels are a bitch. Forget soloing. Best find a Templar and stick to them like glue. This game needs some serious class balancing. Don't get me talking about the gimmicky wings they added. Why give players wings with such limited use? Seriously. Can anyone answer me this? What purpose does it serve? Abyss is the only place for good PvP. That will get old. Fighting in the same zone, night after night. ::shakes her head:: Even we that played Planetside had more maps to choose from. If I wished to fight for the same zone over and over again I'll play BF2 Strike at Karkand. At least it is fun. A prediction. 3 months max after release people will be bitching about the lameness of this game and how poorly it was designed. Just like they did for AoC, WAR and DFO. ^_^ My opinion. ![]() |

First to the OP of this thread, grats on enjoying the game. I think the negativity coming from some although not all is that people are providing tons of praise for a game that none of us have seen the end of.
Originally posted by Teala Oh dear... where to start on this...@@. I'll try to be fair. Alright, I hear you about the water. A lot of people seem to dislike this as well. At the sametime though you have to think of the purpose. If you can't swim then maybe you're not intended to go there. Maybe it is just a better looking invisable wall. Just possible reasons... but at the end of the day it is SWIMMING. How much do you care about it? If you care about the option, fine, but not game breaking. Also if you read anything about leveling speed everyone says it is much faster than Lineage 2 and along the terms of WoW or a little slower. When you say classes are balanced... do you mean for pve or pvp? For leveling? Lets just assume you mean leveling. Ranger is supposed to be one of the hardest classes to level in the game, but im told have some of the highest 5s burst in pvp (Kilkil's rvr thread). Also keep in mind that people have been playing this in asia for awhile... if the leveling was undoable they'd say something. Don't get me talking about the gimmicky wings they added. Why give players wings with such limited use? Seriously. Can anyone answer me this? What purpose does it serve? My educated guess would have to do with balance. Sorcs and Rangers from my understanding are better aerial fighters. Would you prefer for them to fly forever? That's just one reason. Now do I think that people should be able to fly in their capital cities? Yes, but there are other areas where I do understand limited use. Fighting in the same zone night after night... there's nothing wrong with it if it is FUN. Look at DAOC. Heck even people in WoW enjoy the same bgs over and over (although I find them dull). The abyss though to my understanding is supposed to be similiar to the frontiers in DAOC. A very large zone to pvp in. Have you even seen the Abyss? If you have at least I could take your "it will get old" statement better. A prediction. 3 months max after release people will be bitching about the lameness of this game and how poorly it was designed. Just like they did for AoC, WAR and DFO. ^_^ My opinion. One Word? Disappointment I've heard "Aion this, Aion that" for years now, I finally play the game and I'm like, "Ok, what's the hype about?" You can't fix this game either. They can add in swimming(they probably will so they don't look like failsauce), they will balance the classes better, but many things about the game are what they are and thats the way it will be. It's an over-hyped, gimmicky, linear, pvp focused, asian "quest"(-_-) grinder, with battles looking like the Clone Wars because everyone looks similar. Now tell me this is going to change... It's not. If people stopped hyping it so much like it's going to make Blizzard pee in their pants, and actually took a more objective look at the game, I think many of us would stop attacking it. Its like when you go to a review and fans(promoters possibly as well) give something an undeserved 10/10. You are going to have people come in and give it 1/10 just to bring it back down to reality, which is exactly where many Aion fans appear to not be at the moment. |

Just wanted to clear one thing up here. I joined Aion Closed beta this weekend and so far I have reached level 9 with my Cleric. From my experience the Cleric is one of the easiest to solo up to level 9. My son is playing a Warrior / Templar and is finding solo a rougher time then I did. The rest of your post I'm sure has as many errors as the ones you claim about the Cleric. |

Played CB4 & 5 and so far its very good. Nice GFX, well laid out and clear UI and responsive abilities and good player effects. Did i mention the music is lovely ? Oh and i play a Ranger and i kill things just fine and im only level 14. Seems to me some people are WOWified and want a spoon fed experience and everything easy mode, i hope Aion isnt like that.

Sounds like you are kind of over MMOs in general. No worries man, they aren't for everyone. Show me an MMO that doesn't require you to kill mobs and I will buy you a coke.
And please don't say freerealms, or hello kitty bake out or any other kids games. |
