THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL

The "lead developer" has said on other blogs that when it is finished and polished they'll "release it" to Summit Entertainment.  Summit Entertainment is a film studio - they don't release games and they don't have the game rights to Twilight.

This is a couple of guys making an unofficial game using a cheap game engine.

Expect this to disappear as soon as the copyright holders send legal paperwork to BrainJunk.

I'm reasonably sure that a game set in the world of Twilight (note I said "a" game, not necessarily "this" game) could be a roaring success. 

The target market would be the huge number of non-Internet-rage-nerd gamers that enjoy playing the Sims, Second Life, Habbo, etc.  I wouldn't be surprised if combat was de-emphasised or even non-existent.  People would buy it and love it, and the majority would be doing it because of the "brand", not the EZPVP.

That said, I can't see it working as an MMO for all the reasons this thread details.  The last thing you want is a bunch of MMORPG trolls showing up and going all Viking on Forks, Washington.

I have to say on the MMO vs. multi-player comment....this is a growing problem. I have seen people proclaiming several different games to be MMOs, that are indeed NOT, but rather co-op play mutli-player games. I think that many modern gamers have either forgotten what a real MMO is, or...they've just decided to re-define it. Either way....it makes me a bit....sad. ;)

I would love to see a REAL vampire type MMO ala Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines type of thing. This, however, is certainly NOT that thing. LOL

I know I am going against the grain but anything Vampires is worth trying even if it may suck afterwards. :) . I guess I am optimistic. Being after Twilight is a bit weird though i agree. Vampire Bloodlines The Masquerade would have been a good MMO try. I know there is another Vampire MMO in the making somewhere i just forget where. :). getting old. They will have to really deliver on this one if they even want to have a chance in the MMO world. I agree that this may be another nail in the coffin as someone said. Maybe when people think MMO they think big raids and big groups. That is why you guys are so negative about it? I am a casual player so "lite" grouping is just my style. :) . Go ahead shoot down the good guy now......

Kiddies need MMOs to play also, but I think this type of game would have more appeal on MMOsite.com rather than here.

Funcom is working on The Secrect World MMO.

CCP is working on The World of Darkness MMO.

If you're looking for a vampire MMO...you really don't need to be looking at Twilight.
