BrainJunk Studios will be developing an MMOG based on the Twilight novel series. The game will allow players to play either a Human, Werewolf, or Vampire and explore an "open non-linear" world set around Forks, Washington.

The game will also feature a journal that allows players to teleport to different periods of time in order to experience the events found within.

The Examiner has interviewed head of software development on the project, Brandon Gardner, on the game, who described it as:

an open non-linear world set around Forks. I like the idea of letting players explore the world, and discover new amazing things that are not even covered in the book or the movie.

One really extremely crucial feature in the game engine that was licensed for the game is unlimited world streaming, and this feature allows for the game to go in an open, non-linear direction.

The game will be closely based to both Twilight and Midnight Sun allowing the player to play, and experience the story from either Bella’s or Edward’s perspective.

I’m thinking of including New Moon into the project as well. I really think it’s important to allow players to experience being human, vampire, or phasing into a werewolf.

I don't think I have ever in my life thought "so what" so strongly and that's even after having seen the announcement of a Hello Kitty online game.

A MMORPG designed from the ground up for emo teenage girls - this will be a *monster* hit !!

Except no where on the site does it say MMO. It says multi-player, but that's it. Besides, how can you "experience the story from either Bella’s or Edward’s perspective" in an MMO? (For that matter, how can you experience their story as a werewolf?)

I think this was posted just to make us all groan and bang our heads on the nearest dull (or sharp) object.

That is an interesting article. So what I gathered is that it is the "brainchild" of a student? Anything about a production company? Anything about licensing? What about Summit or the author's views?

To be completely honest, I am not even sure this is an MMO at all much less news worthy at this point.

I hate to sound critical but that is how I see it.

it's about companies having such a lack of creativity that they will try to capture the wallets of all the young girls enamored with the Twilight franchise.

Well notice when something is actually bad. Then the negative posts reflect it. Well.... There hasn't been a SINGLE possitive note for this game. So I like to think of us as all being constructive in our hate towards this idea.

From what I gathered its not even a company - just the idea of two students right now and nothing official. 

I think it falls into that "It sounds cool so we thought we would do it" category.

I would really like to know if the author has given her okay for this as well as Summit Entertainment.

the current amount of information on the given site gives the mathematical term "convergence to zero" a new meaning :)

I just palmfaced.  So hard.  Sooooo hard.

That means that everyone is going to talk like emo kids in the game, that will get really annoying having no emotions in the game. There hoping emo kids will play it and there trying to get in on the money that movie and books are making for the author right now
