Agreed, Aion is polished for sure, I was amazed at how polished it was. That said on pure enjoyment, CO was way better for me. Don t get me wrong CO is very polished from what I ve seen. When it comes down to it, it s fun that matters to me and CO has it for sure. Besides I m sick of the fantasy setting, love it but need a break from it for awhile. |

I played CoH/CoV for a while, and most recently have been playing WoW and LotR:O. I'm looking forward to a change of scenery. The change of combat pace should be interesting as well. Overall I'm pretty excited about this games release. I think it has a lot of promise. Regarding the item mall, I was under the impression that the items available would be mostly cosmetic in nature and wouldn't have an effect on actual gameplay. Not having seen it, one instance I could see this is if you wanted to use a costume piece which has already been copyrighted, thus requiring a licensing fee. Not sure if that's the case, but I agree in that players shouldn't be able to purchase an advantage over other players in PvP. (signature blocked) |

Fluff items, and any items that are on the store you may want can be obtained through gameplay. Like quests, drops etc. Some people will make a big deal out of it, but to the average gamer it means nothing. As I ve said before if you want to buy your way to the top go for it, I ll play the game the way it s meant to be played. That said play how you want, it won t effect me :) |

That's currently my biggest concern, but I doubt Cryptic would be stupid enough to try to charge a sub, plus require an item shop for the best or most powerful items. If they are all cosmetic, I don't mind. It's just vanity, and both parties win: you get whatever you want to look cool, and Cryptic gets a few extra bucks. Of course people will still whine, but as long as it's all cosmetic...

Myself and the other beta testers have been trying our best to break it. There has been a LOT of polishing and tweaking in the last few months and the devs and community team have been active and effective to our feedback. (I hope I'm not breaking the NDA with this) As for the Item mall, meh, I comes up as zero on my radar. It's just not relevant to me. If a game is fun then I will play. This game is fun and so I will play it. That simple. Is it ready? I would say I will be able to tell you when the last big patch goes in 3 days before it goes live. I couldn't give you an definite judgement until the final adjustments that are being discussed are implemented and tweaked. The open beta hits in august and I think the NDA will be lifted then too. I'm sure everyone will hear loads about it. I will say that I spend about half the time killing and the other half doing other interesting things that I can't talk about so for me there's plenty to do. I like it and I want it now. There is NO miracle patch. 95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch. Hope is not a stategy. |

yeah dude! 6 guys just kicked down my front door!!! they tied me up and forced me to give them all my banking details to Cryptic. Then they had me sign over over of attorney, adoption rights to my 1st born and my TR dogtags. Then they removed my internal organs and sold them on eBay. major agro!!! I only convinced them to leave by taking out a 2nd mortgage on my house and giving them the cash and agreeing to play the gimp at their next party. OMG!!!! There is NO miracle patch. 95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch. Hope is not a stategy. |

I've been in the beta since April. The game has come a LONG way over the last few months. At first I was like... meh. Now I count the days to the next play test.

Regardless of what so many have said, with the particular choices Cryptic has made at this point, at launch, it will be as ready as it will ever be. I will not dictate whether or not that is for the better or worse, but everyone who's interested better get in Open Beta and get that free play time.... this will be a very hit or miss with the community for certain. |

CoH had a nearly flawless launch, I can't see this being any different. This will be my one and only MMO for the next couple of years, guaranteed.

I have two WoW accounts, two EvE accounts and an AoC account running now, I'm not fearful of spending money on video games, it's part of my hobby. I'm worried idiots will make this venture successful enough that it becomes the industry standard. Your apathy is fuel for that, accepting what you're spoon fed because to be honest you don't know any better and you've been trained to respond this way. |

I thought I heard somewhere (possibly a video?) that you make your nemesis during character creation. Also, how quickly can you level...not that I'm into powerleveling, just curious how "grindy" the process is. Thanks
No, this happens in game

Sounds good, I have high hopes.
Argh! But Item Mall! I'm so angry I could download a torrent. |
