you had people praising this game like it was going to be the second coming.  This should teach you a lesson, don't praise a game until you play it. You can't go by screenshots and videos.  I'm looking forward to APB, Stargate Worlds, Champions Online,  Star Wars Old Republic and Star Trek Online, but even I know these games have a good possibility of sucking....I just hope they're good.    So from now on no fighting over if you think a game is good or bad before you've played it.  This game should be able to teach everyone and keep the piece on this site.

And in which universe do you think that is ever going to happen?

Aye, this is true.

In my defence I didn`t praise the game. I praise the idea of a full-loot pvp mmo, and I still do. I will never play those games you listed, but I wish you luck in your quest for your perfect mmo. I sadly don't have any hopes for Mortal Online, but hopes it will do ok.

DarkFall delivered what they promised to me.  It may helped i joined DF just the last year so didnt waited for too long for it. Also i can read  and understand journals  and also watched the gameplay trailer  was prepared to what to expect. Also i feared prior release it gets too much hype so i demanded small dedicated playerbase.  As a pure MMORPG player i had also some fear how they would implement FPS and i am fully satified with the succesfull merge in DF between the RPG part and the FPS part.I also understand why it should take time to be able to use all abilities to the max  in an MMO i have experieced these "grind" in other games too and do not  have problems with it.

As for the company i understand they newcomers i expected they will make errors but i deliberaty support them because they not only gave me hope into "game developer's developed" instead of the $OE sales management "developed" games for example but also they executed in big parts as promised IMO.

Also very important for me was they designed  the gameplay on Agon very clan centric instead of solo player friendly  and delivered on that and i love the devs especially for that.

$OE - eternal enemy of online gaming
-We finally WON !!!! 2011 $OE accepted that they have been fired 2005 by the playerbase and closed down ridiculous NGE !!

Your pathetic devotion to that anciant religion has not helped you track down the missing plans or given you clairvoance- oooh wait wrong Darth sorry.

I just have to add my wieght to an ongoing meme on thes forum. PLEASE stop with the "Darkfall is complete to me because it has everything I want." The game is STILL a husk and STILL dosen't have evough content or enough ways for players to create interesting and origional content......

I agree, no need to over hype a game till you play it.

Also might want to fix that part in red there.

A full-loot pvp mmo sounds interesting but it won't work if a much higher level person can go and kill all the lower ranks.  If lower level people are afraid to walk out of town because morons who are level 10 or 20 are going to kill them so they will never get a chance to level just isn't fair.  If they can make a system that will let people fight others who are in their level so they have a chance to win, then the system might work.  If I'm going to pay for a game and make a character I better have a chance to level and not have a bunch of a**holes waiting for low levels to kill, thats not realism.  I mean even in the worse neighborhood people have a chance to live.

I don't know much about Mortal online.  Actually recently I've been looking for something other than fantasy MMO's anyway, I'm getting kind of bored of them.

MMOs require more reasoning and imagination than most stereotypically ''adult'' activities.

Couple messages from your words, I want to leave a few comments.
First, being bored with existing games =/= jump to the next game.  Nor is DF a natural answer to everything.  Actually DF is a very limited game, with FFA PvP as its only offer.  Is it worth going thru all the pains and the nasty community just for some sporadic FFA PvP?  Are there no other games worth your time than DFo?  Are there no other activities?  I recently found a good activity, touring on a bike.  Sometimes, there are lots of things we miss when we are too focused on some "gems".
The second issue is PvP griefing.  Levels is one aspect, gear is another, zerg in numbers, exploitation with hecks, exploitation of some unbalancing features, exploitation of some in game mechanics (shoot thru walls, shooting from a safe "house", shooting with LoS bug).  All these are common features of any PvP game.  Heck, such exploitations are heated debates in SWG in those days.  Level difference is not the only way to cheat, tho its the simplest way where unfairness is truly visible.
As for chance to fight back, it all depends on the game engine, and the chance of the game engine to detect exploitations and ban such players.  Some games ban exploitations, maintaining a very tough stand.  DAoC and WoW are the 2 I know which bans without hesitation.  DF, unfortunately, with its client side distributed processing and its ultra small player base, does not really have much choice when it comes to banning.
The thrid issue with full loot.  Its kinda cutting on both ends.  If loot matters a lot, people will be afraid to PvP.  You know the history of World War I, the naval combat history.  While the infantry engage each other everyday, the German Highsea Fleet and the Bristish Imperial Fleet never fight, only a skirmish somewhere (Jutland? I forgot the name).  That is because ships are too valuable.  Once lost it's almost irreplacable, same goes for experienced naval gunners and crew loss.   On the other hand, if loot or gear is totally mute, there is no point to push for a full loot game, and suffer from all the crap and immature community.
So a good balance has to be found when it comes to loot.  Full loot might NOT be the only or best way to implement a game.  After all, a game exist purely for fun, and loot is only one dimension of fun.

Surprisingly enough, I was bashing on Darkfall before it actually came out.

I thought it was vaporware, and that such a small company couldn't pull off such a huge feat.

Now I'm a fan.

I cringe every time I see the fanboys ravage over upcoming games like MO, Aion, or TOR. It reminds me of my excitement for AoC and the subsequent disappointment.

Server based MMO's like the the games http://www.trionworld.com/ ...and also go life...are developing SHOULD get rid of exploits.  The reason we have exploits is because the games are on client computers so people can make exploits and such.  Once they're put on server its going to be much harder if possible at all.  At least this is the theory and hopefully they theory is right.  In interviews with trionworlds they don't mention this.  They just mention on the fly game changes and emergent behavior which are nice, but another big thing is the no hacking/exploits.
