In a hilarious article at Cracked, writer Seanbaby attempts to make sense of the World of Warcraft using Super Mario Brothers.

When WoW players get together in large groups, it’s called a raid. Because when you have no motor, people or communication skills, the best thing to do is glue yourself to 24 identical morons. Now that you have 25 mouths screaming different curses and 50 feet running in different directions, you have a perfect simulation of every birth defect and psychological disorder known to science, and are ready for a grand adventure.

Here’s where it gets tricky. When you tell 25 people to go to The Caverns of Time, seven of them don’t know what that is, two of them aren’t playing anymore, one fell asleep in his pizza, two have to drive their kids to therapy, one tells you to shut the **** up, four are rebooting their computers, one is getting kicked off by his parents, two are lost foreigners who thought this was the train station, one is pressing enter on the same Chuck Norris joke over and over, two of them tell everyone to go to three different places and one is your girlfriend bitching at you about how much this sucks.

Understanding the World of Warcraft Using Super Mario Brothers

I would warn people that the article is generally biased into the opinion that World of Warcraft players are stupid, and that anyone who plays World of Warcraft here should take it lightly, and try to remember that time in a raid when the healer went AFK, or the Hunter pulled aggro off of the Raid Boss.

That ought to push a couple of buttons around here.

Yes - I played WoW  do I anymore? No, for the reasons stated. I guess I was able to maintain my calm LOL.

Between Dana's anti-RP article and this anti-WoW hit piece, I'm having a real problem with the bias showed by the employees of MMORPG.COM, and I know that I am not the only one.

No bias; just a funny read. :) Most of the examples could be applied to most any MMOG. I can certainly relate to a lot of it in my experiences playing MMOGs, which is why I found it so humorous.

It is called satire. It was painfuly obvious that Seanbaby had no intention of touting that article as a true critique of the game World of Warcraft. The funniest thing to me is he used just about every cliche Wow complaint I ever heard from my large group of Wow playing (addicted) friends. Now if Seanbaby would only do some more of  his very old school Hostes Comicbook advertisements satire my life would be complete.

 Absolutely hilarious. The cow part had me in stitches. 

I agree with MikeB, it can easily apply to many games,  heaven knows I've been a part of enough suicidal cow boss-lunges to have a good laugh at this.

If thats satire, than this whole site is bloody satirical even the reporting.

Really? A very popular online game being satirized on a comedy magazine website (cracked magazine has been around since the 1970s by the way) is in no way newsworthy? I suppose the whole Southpark Wow episode was equally unworthy reporting as well then?

That article is pure epic loot! Sure, it's not really news per se, but lighten up - can't we have some fun once in a while?

Oh, and I've been playing WoW on and off since EU launch. Still playing a bit. I'd even go so far as to say that I'm guilty of some of the acts of stupidity described in the article. Do I feel hurt? Do I feel the need to lash out and complain? No... because I can... you know... laugh at myself... and it is just a game afterall. Oh, and at least I have a good excuse for acting like a cow since I play taurens whenever I can get away with it

I laughed pretty hard.......then went back to playing WoW.

Was a pretty great article.  And spot on accurate, ot just to WoW but all MMO's. 
Anybody who did not find humor in that article, well, good chance you're one of the players they were talking about!
