Just wondering. Will you people buy Win 7 in the first month after the release, will you wait till the first service pack or will you stay at your old operating system? Fill in the Poll and discuss your choise in this thread.

Isn't this off topic material? |

My answer would be yes, if I could build a PC with a directX11 card when win 7 launches. Since this probably won't be the case, I'll probably wait until the new generation of cards is available. So for me it's a decision restricted due to hardware, not software. Edit: I didn't vote because nothing applies for me. I'm also relatively happy with vista. |

Probably should be in the off-topic section. I will probably wait until the first service pack is released. For the Templars... |

Depends on what kind of money I have at the moment and if I feel like upgrading (and how much an upgrade from vista to 7 will be). So I'm not really sure when. |

A simple "Yes" or "No" would have been nice. And yes, because it's finally a true successor to XP and puts Vista in the dirt where it should have never risen from to begin with. |

Personally I'm thinking of Windows 7 as a service pack for Vista that makes is a worthwhile operating system.. I didn't buy Vista. Eventually I will buy Windows 7. |

Any gamer who runs a bleeding edge OS instead of waiting at least a year is an absolute moron. The support isn't going to be there, and it won't be encompasing for at least that long. If you're cool with having to ask "Does it support windows 7 ;;" every time you want to try something, and then deal with any subsequent performance issues go right ahead... Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts. EAT ME MMORPG.com! |

So sorry, this gamer is not a "moron" but is enjoying his "bleeding edge" OS very much, thank you. |

Apparently you haven't actually used Windows 7. It is extremely reliable, and has proved to be an incredible replacement for both XP and Vista. ( I ran XP for years, and then switched to Vista x64 ultimate recently, and used it before the win 7 RC was released, and I have been running Win 7 as my primary OS since then and have loved it. I play plenty of games and use a wide variety of applications, and have yet to have a compatibility issue on anything made since the XP era. I've had some very minor compatibility issues with OLD games (by old, i mean win 95/98 era) Anything recent has had zero problems, and runs flawlessly. Win 7 is a fantastic OS, and is what Vista should have been at the beginning (though I will admit that I liked Vista before I switched to 7) |

I believe I saw a fix for windows 7 for gameguard and for Aion, look for it. Then again I agree with you gameguard is pure skit. If any newbie hacker wanna get in they could do it easy, and then use cheats to have advantage in games. |

I was simply stating mmo wise, that was the only issue I've ever had. |

I would if I was still uber into games and PC's but the past few years I've just slowly become bored of games and I enjoy other things more like my Motorbikes. I just think they've become stale and the mmorpg genre the most which hasn't had a good mmorpg since 2004 and I havn't played any since 2005. |

Imma stay with XP Pro as long as possible, since Win 7 is bascally vista with a few tweaks and still has the 40-60% lower performance than XP in all programs. Not to mention all the annoying "features" it has. |

For me the deal breaker is no "What u hear" function because Microsoft have disabled it on Windows 7 so the record companies don't moan about people recording their tracks. So legit people who used it for making videos and stuff get burnt......... |
