Well, if you sell the rights to publish your game to another company, it makes life difficult if that company can only publish games in a certain area (EU). They either self published in NA (and absorbed the fee's for doing so themselves) or had another company publish the game for them. Its all behind the scenes. Try to buy EU Warhammer and play on a NA server. You can't, you have to buy Warhammer in North America. This is a good accomplishment for an indy company. Quit the hate. EA and Blizzard is not your god. " This is a good accomplishment for an indy company"
Umm...do you mean by AV saying that some company would be handling the NA servers, hence the need for a transfer fee.....when in fact AV is handling the NA server, and any additional charges for a transfer are basically unethical? That "good accomplishment? |

I agree, AOC and WAR were garbage, which is of course why they lost 50-80% of their subs in the 3 months after release, which caused funcom to fire entire offices of GMs and the game producer.
WOW is like the ultimate scam of all -- get a bunch of people to pay you for a second job, grinding repetitive, dumbed-down pointless quests and scripted bosses over and over, and then simply copy'n'paste 90% of existing content into the next expansion and reset the levels making all their effort worthless and then get them to do it all over again. It's both hilarious and sad, yet true.
I fully Agree With THis. |

No, had you said all mmorpg's are like what you describe WoW as then I would agree with you. However, you act as if WoW is the only one like that. Which is ridiculous and only someone new to the genre would think that, hence my original comment. |

Any bafoon that calls this a launch is a bafoon. This game limped to a paraplegic launch months ago, then crashed and burned then.
You simpletons that are playing the mark to these hoodlums called Aventurine deserve to get milked for playing a contentless, empty game; not to mention purchasing the game twice for being from NA. |

He is just one of those hardcore PVP'ers who has carried the 3rd grade playground mentality with him. He think that he is cooler and much more of a bully because he plays a harder game with PVP whereas everyone else are wimpy because they play less-difficult games. All it is is the MMO version of the playground bully syndrome. I also find it funny that he thinks AOC and WAR are garbage because they lost so many players and fails to ignore how poorly Darkfall is doing currently. Just for comparisons sake, look at the current X-Fire data. WOW = #1 Guild Wars, #8 WAR = #30 AOC = #31 Lineage 2, #68 SWG, #91 Wizard 101, #133 Darkfall, #140 Now granted, I will be the first one that will declare X-Fire data not to be 100% accurate at all BUT when used comparitively, it can show you where your game ranks. One other point to make about that - X-Fire is good with trends and if you look where AOC is, remember they had their "welcome back" trial this week. Go ahead and troll about XFire fanbois.....but let me remind you, MANY of you were using Xfire to show how well Darkfall was doing until it revealed the opposite. Darkfall ranked #50 on March 18, 2009 and since has dropped to 140....a fall of 90 places. That is quite a bit in 4 months. All Darkfall can muster the week of its North American launch is 140, 7 spots below a kids game. That should say something about what is and isn't garbage. |
