I don't need one but is there anyway to register, my credit card doesn't work online and I don't want to buy prepaid game card if I don't want it. (I typically buy prepaid cards) when I try to register it gives me option "prepaid gamecard" BUT I have to know prepaid code (have to buy it) before I can even make account. Pretty useless win prize for me then :(

I received one,but as some have said you have to put in your credit card info beforehand. So, I'm not going to play since I've played the 7 day trial before. If anyone wants it, just message me.

Yeah I know but I won't use :S Though it's pretty stupid imo. Players who usually pay by Pre-paid cards can't use that damn prize :(( I was hoping that I can play it this weekend but no!! :'(

I won!  I've never played the game before, but will give it a full month run through now that I have a copy.  I'm rather happy since I've never won anything before at MMORPG outside of a T-Shirt for some game I can't remember.

A brand-NEW copy of Age of Conan is practically worthless. You could get it on Amazon.com for a couple of dollars and shipping. Well, then think about it.

Yes. And it works rather well, I wish other companies will do the same.

In MMOs you get most of your income from monthly fees (or cash shops for that matter), only Guildwars depends on selling boxes. You can get a lot of new players by giving boxes away like this.

Of course with the SOE games you could just take a trial and then start paying but they don't say anything about that, I guess that is to trick people to buy the game instead.

I think this is a great idea and particulary Mythic should do the same.

Sorry, man. But almost all MMOs are like that when you buy them, you need to register either a gamecard or creditcard to get your free month. At least Blizzard and SOE do like that, probably the rest also.

For my girls I just used the pay by cash option and she was set to go. Hope that helps.

well during this free 2 week pweriod I'm a test out some classes, then I'm going to roll fresh on a new account and leave my remembrance of the Dark Templar to die in the pit of snakes :)

ok, first of all, yes i am a leecher, i like all the contest, articles and game news i find here, i just dont like to write. anyways, i won and got a copy yippee, i am downloading it atm, FOR THOSE WHO DONT WANT TO USE A CREDIT CARD!. read this, there is an option to pay by cash. just put in random billing adress and continue, this will activate your account, plus in the user interface you can then delete this methode of payment any time, (i did right away) that way you, or anyone else will not get billed. IF you plan on continuing, just re enter a proper billing adress or use game cards. Hope this helps :D, i was just about to give my key away cause i dont have a working CC, but just keep the download, cause age of faolian (private server) is comming soon, but then i realized the method above and voila, a full month without even giving a CC # or risking getting billed. I might change my mind in the future and decide to actually subscribe, till then ill enjoy this extended "trial" version.

*NOTE: if you think this method is wrong, dont do it, i was just sugesting an alternative method that doesnt involve giving away credit info online, which i believe is wrong and untrusted, no matter who you go to.

  The problem with that method is the original information you enter is tied to the account and if you have a problem later on (like getting hacked.),  you will not be able to prove the account is yours.  I have been playing mmo's since the launch of Ultima Online and never have been charged a cent when I didn't choose it.  I always wonder if the reason people are scared of giving info is that they have the intention of acting like jerks and don't want to take responsibility for their actions...
