Want to know what one of my pet peeves is? self indulgent people that can't just ignore a thread on an internet gaming forum, instead they have to pipe up and act arrogant towards another user. Childish.

To say that MMORPG.com reports news on this industry better than most other sites is just plain incorrect. Do you even read other mmo news sites? TTH? Massively? etc... Both of them are far superior to MMORPG.com in every possible way.

This site is commonly regarded as a breeding ground for trolls and loud mouthed naysayers. Ask yourself this, how many times have you ever heard anyone recommend visiting this site to another person? not many, if ever, correct?.

There's a damn good reason for that.

Loved reading everything you wrote whether I agreed or not.  You'll be missed man.

His article was rubbish and honestly this place is no longer the place to come to discuss games as much as just cuss games. It is a entertaining place at times all the same so will hang around. Dana was kind of insulting though but people complaining about it sort of proves what he was trying to say in a stupid way. Although I do believe him to be generally a idiot on this one.

Yeah this site is pretty sad  with the 99% garbage/trollish/flamming posts but I'm not sure if there is anything better.. there probably is but I haven't bothered looking around.

Yeah, the article hit a sore spot with me as well. It's one thing to have a disagreement with other members on the site - it's expected and all that - but when staff members start to pull this kind of crap, you have to wonder just how low this place will start to sink. It's like they're trying to make us argue with one another and then sit back and eat popcorn and watch the flames.

It's just sad. I won't leave - :p I enjoy debating and conversing with other members here too much - but I sure as hell am not going to be reading any more of the staff blogs if this is how inane they're going to be.

 These forums, are like Hell. You really want to leave, but then you kind of want to stay.

So, Dana insulted role players, so what?  He doesn't like them or understand them, but he is permitted his opinion.  Being a columnist does not take away that right.

I'm thinking the only role playing I've seen in this thread is that of drama queens, come on folks, have a thicker skin than that.

Don't leave - just ignore Dana's features in the future.  Don't read them.   He all ready discredited himself and  I seriously doubt many people will bother to read what he has to say in the future here on this website considering he responded to his "opinion piece" about other peoples remarks by stating he may have been a little over the top and did it to incite a response - which is something a troll would do.

I guess everyone has their view.

If  a site like this is going to have people write columns that its kind of like journalism.  You know the ideal versus the reality...

When you write a column you should at least seem to have researched your own topic.  You should seem to have some clue of understanding the topic you are writing about.  You should also seem to stand back and have a close to neutral stance on the subject.

Otherwise what is the point of having a column?  You could just start a thread here...

We have blogs, threads and various other electronic "opinion" media...  Articles should .. well I already described that.  However, it is easy enough to ignore them.

I'm a bit of a snob. I couldn't be arsed to play an RP server because the grind is still the same (and very disjoining to the RP) and most people still don't know the first thing about grammar. Or have the disillusion that Shakespearian speech is somehow role playing.

So if I want RP, I go to a RP-based chat where there aren't pretty graphics to even pretend to make up for a person's inability to write.

I can't understand this...    Role Playing is the CORE fo the RPG experience.  Is what make RPG great. Is the RP in RPG. 

Role playing is hard and is not for everyone, is like dancing, not everyone like dancing... but these people that hate dancing still visit  Discos.  Hating RP'ers is like hating people that dance at disco's.   Or people that read on the public library. Or people that run on a sports area. It just don't make sense, is what this shit is for!
