I'm hoping they keep thief and scholar. My two FAVORITE jobs. I'm badass at both :P |

They should keep paladin. Best class hands down fun as well. |

Hoping for monk able to focus on hand to hand and not forced to use 2 handed weapon as part of this new system.
Also Samurai I could see myself playing either. I had way too many classes at 75 in FFXI but style wise those were my favorite, I just hope all classes are equally desired for the entire end game this time around. I don't like having to play mages, though I usually just stuck on my monk on those fights in a good chi blast rotation which actually I found a lot of fun.

Always thought the Geomancer would be cool to play as.. and the Alchemist, be nice to have a different healer in the mix. They could also change the Warrior around a bit.. to be more of a defensive tank, and then say add Berzerker in the mix, and make it a offensive tank. I dunno... as long as i can still be a loldrg... i'll be happy. |

I really hope that the leveling system is similar to that of FF X. Where you have a leveling tree for abilities, which i think they were referring to. If that is the case, jobs will not matter. If you want to level with a Samurai sword you can. If you want to do Hand 2 Hand you can. But I do recall an interview they said that they did like the leveling system in FFXI and they plan on expanding on that further. So i can see them implementing some of the jobs from FFXI in the Leveling tree/Weapons.

I really hope they don't copy jobs straight from FFXI. Not that I didn't like them, but I personally want this new world to be... well... new. Instead of just having 1or 2 combos that can tank and 1 or 2 combos that can heal, and then everything else being a different flavor of DPS, open it up a bit so there's more variety. Make them such that you aren't an outcast if you want to play something akin to say a Warrior/Bard or Mage/Archer. MMO games would be pretty cool if it weren't for the people. |

Dude I had so much fun with Last Remnant and it was a good looking game! That would be another option too that I would be open to. If you guys havent seen it check it out! This gives a great description of the style of game play and the Remnant battle system. This is what Hyanmen was referring to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoVfmpJKyd0

Players come for the game, but they stay for the people- Most Devs have forgotten this. |

Assuming we're talking about classes not in FFXI: Mime, if pulled off well, could be interesting. No real solo option for them, though. On the other hand, game-play would always changed based on who you're grouped with. Letting high level mimes 'mimic' dead players could really give them a needed edge for raid versatility. (Casting a life spell from a WHM on the WHM?) I'd like to see engineer. (Thinking FF:Tactics engineer here.) A grey mage (or time mage.)

FFXI had a great high number of jobs to select from. I would like to see some kind of darker job I guess you would call it, there is the Dark Knight job but I would like to see some kind of dark caster job aswell.
Also, I'm really interested to know what direction they are going to take the Ninja job since what it is currently being used for in FFXI was not the intended playstyle. |

Especially if there's some rare, hard to get weapon that teaches an ability players decide you "need" to advance beyond a certain point. It'd be even more annoying if the players were right. It could be interesting if your weapon choice determined your class. That would lead to some weird game-play though. Being limited to speculation is annoying, I hope they release more details soon. |

Anything that isn't labeled as or put in context with the term, Job. |
