I got this game back in March since it was ridiculously difficult to get an account after launch. I stopped playing after only a month's subscription time because, well, the game was crap. I was considering on re-subscribing after the news I heard about an expansion. I also heard the news about how I could get my money back for buying this game through a charge back. After reading a lot of posts concering this game's progress, I feel that I no longer want to join back in, but rather get my money back.

TL;DR: Is it possible for me to get my money back for buying this crap back in March?

Call your Credit Card company for a charge back. Usually it is no problem and you get your money back. AV has to fight it out with the CC company but that would be no longer your problem then.

youd have to prove that Adv did not fully disclose thier return policy, and also that the product you received was not as advertised, and or suitable for your purposes (which is certainly arguable), in a claim to your CC provider, you cant file this as a charge back as you technicaly DID receive a product that YOU knowingly purchased (IE not fraud)

if everyone did a charge back for all the games they didn't like after paying for, alot of gaming companies would be in a lot of trouble.

You payed for a game, you got the game and used the service.

I read somewhere that DFO was marked by many CC companies because of their false advertisement/fraud/etc, and that it wouldn't be so much of a problem to get your money back.

correct however, asking for refund due to "false advertisment" is not technicaly a charge back, a charge back is typicaly refering to an amount on your CC you did not authorize, IE fraud, asking your CC company for a refund based on the suitability of a product is a different type of claim.

Based on what was on their website, and probably still is as a feature set, I'd imagine you'd have no problem showing your CC company that the game that was advertised wasn't delivered.

Personally, I hope you do go after a chargeback.  The more of these that occur, the faster AV will have to shut this pile down.  To those who enjoy it, good for you.  However, AV flat out has committed at least false advertising and at worst, fraud.

"I read somewhere"

Why don't you deal with this maturely by contacting customer support at AV, and your credit card company, instead of trolling a non-official forum with your first two posts ever here suggesting fraud?

You say you stopped playing after a month, but "considered resubbing".   This doesn't sound like a case of fraud, but a case of buyers remorse.   Let me know if you have any luck.  I have a shelf of games I only played for a month too.

Contacting customer support from AV? Are you sure we're talking about the same AV? I'm sure that me asking for customer support from their laughable team of developers is still close to impossible.

People on this forum act like they just call thier CC company and they make it all better because AV hurt them.

AV did not fraud you, you bought a game and didn't like it. Take it like a man.

You can call your CC company, and they will tell you that everything will be alright and that they are giving you back the funds right away, you will smile and think you stuck it to AV.

Then in a couple weeks you will get a letter from your CC stating that you are retarded and that the funds are being charged again along with a small fee they charge you for wasteing thier time.

Next, you can go to college and walk around thinking that if you show up too all your classes you should atleast deserve a C.

At the slight chance of you not meaing to troll, how about you be more specific.

What experience did you actually ever have with AV customer support?

What was your experience with the game, specifically, that makes yu feel it's "crap".   What mechanics do you have issues with?

Umm, AV Customer Support is an oxymoron.

Cynical? Me? Never.

You can certainly do a chargeback. Just tell them your now former roommate stole the card, and charged it. Tell them anything. It doesn't matter, because you don't need proof(yay! for the new scam to replace bad check writers).

Is it ethical? No. You bought the game. You should eat it if you don't like it. Has the time expired that you can get a chargeback? I don't know now what the time limit is.

You want your money back for a game you bought in mars?

I can just see how all people returning their single player games after they are done with them, you can't have your money back now, you should have tried a week after you bought it.

If gaming companies let people have their money back months after they sold them we would see few games being made indeed. And this is not just about DF but with the same logic could WAR buyers get their money back and AoC buyers.

It is kinda like buying a dinner, eat it all and then wanting your money back because it tasted bad.

It's not so much that I will be doing a charge back (or attempting to) I was just seeing if it is possible. Sure, I've played games before, DFO isn't my first, but it certainly is the worst as far as promised features and content goes. Tasos and the rest of their team of intelligent people seemed to put the promises on paper just to keep the public interested, and then almost never deliver said content/fixes/changes. It's ridiculous, and not to mention the lack of community and customer support. If you had a problem, too bad.

Bottom line is, is that upon purchasing this game I was expecting to play a game worthy of being called a finished product, with all of it's features in place. This was not the case however, and I am not the only one who believes so.

As for now I will most likely either re-subscribe, or, like many others, wait this ride out until the NA server launches. The chargeback was just a question I had.

i had no problems withy my chargeback on visa card, but i charged back after two weeks of playing, so there is a big difference. i don't think that it is so easy to get your money back after 3 or 4 months.

I've still not heard one specific comment about your in game experience.   It's not clear you really ever bought the game, let alone played.

What did you role?  Where?  What skills did you use?  What mobs did you fight?  What did they drop?  What players did you fight; did you win/lose, what did you drop/they drop?     What siege did you participate in; how did it go?    What journey did you go on, sites seen, exploration?     Did you try joining a guild, which one?  What was your character name?

Sorry man, but a Post #1 on this board crying "Fraud" smells of Trolling far as the nose can smell.

why would you resub to a game you think is a fraud, and apparently had no fun playing?

PS: check out the TOS of the game.

He dosnt need to explain his motives, play time, or post count to you. You are simply another poster here. Are you in fact a official of AV? No? Then your trolling as well, by your logic. People have stated they effected chargebacks, he is interested in that subject, if you cannot answer his questions respectfully then shove off...he likely isnt interested in your opinion.
