At launch a lot of issues were solved by defragging the AoC folder (sometimes the whole host drive), had to do with the patcher's effect on the shipped client.

Reactivated for the heck of it. Started to patch my still installed retail version of the game. First three patches went fine. Now the 4/4 patch shows a size of 11.7 GB? Really? I think that's bigger than downloading the entire client. If this is a bug, how do I get around it? If not, sorry, not spending two days DL'ing an 11.7GB patch. A patcher should be able to modify existeing files, not require every file with changes to be completely re-downloaded. Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz? It is quite weird I took a trial last week, after 1.05. Dx10 seemed to run fine in toratge however outside of it today on my main, there was quite a bit of clipping and it seemed to be bugging my grass. Running in dx9 now with no problems and no complaint looks fine. I still would like to see dx10 in full effect. My FPS was fine I must add, so it was not that I was unable to handle it. We are working on getting this fixed and I'll update this thread when I have more information. Did he finally complete the game they sold to me half finished.
I don't think he was trying to portray him as the Dalai Lama or a saint... I'm going to try this out and see how it goes. This is a good move on Funcom's part, especially with the extra lvl 50 and the free character transfer. I'll start it when I get back from the beach next week. I'll patch now to prepare. EDIT: I did the SimpleConfig fix when I saw the 11.8gig file 4/4 and when I started patching again it dropped down to 6.6gig. 7 hours is better than 13. |

Everyone in agreement that the phrase "20% off the first recurring period" means that you get a discount only for the first period that you are billed and that it's not an ongoing rate like LOTRO? It seems fairly clear to me but I know that Funcom has had problems translating its edicts into English. |

Thanks. This dropped the patch size from over 11.6 GB to 2.3 GB Still pretty insane, but I can let it patch over night tonight with out interfering with my other activities. Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz? Start here: Guild Wars 2 Mass Info for the Uninitiated |

The patcher itself got updated, you might notice some game files in the game directory in different places. They switched it all up to be more productive apparently.

It think it is important / re-iterate to note that there is a timeline with this: "The re-evaluation offer is valid from July 8th to July 22nd and is available to anyone with a closed account in good standing. Reactivating at any time within this period will open for two weeks of free play - regardless of when you choose to act within that time period. There are no costs associated with this offer or any subscription obligations."

Can anyone recommend fansites for CURRENT skill tree and crafting info, everything I find is very out of date. It's pretty much a winback trial, you get 2 weeks of playtime for free with no strings attatched.

I opted to try the game again and did not have to add credit card information. The account is open till July 22nd and the billing is labeled as cancelled. The only way Funcom can bill is sending a bill through the mail. The no strings attached appears to be true. |

I would class it as a winback for sure: They have a whole new website saying what's changed: http://www.ageofconan.com/updates/#/us lots of up and down / left + right buttons describing the changes since launch.

It's an offer of 2 weeks off re-subbing, with the intention of winning back those that were driven away early. MUNDO!! |

It takes no more than 4 minutes to cancel your account on Funcom's website. If you want to call that a string, it isn't tied that tightly. Their intention is to "winback" players that previously canceled their accounts. I'd call that a winback trial. Semantics. |

It says my account is payable and I haven't entered any CC data at all. I have like an hour or so left on the client download so I'll update then. |
