Yup. You can't get more fanboy then working for a company for free. I really don't know what this thread is supposed to be about. |

Lets follow that train though, humor me. If the DF server can support 50k players, and they currently only have 17k... why are they releasing a new server? In addition to that ... surely 50k of the reported 300k+ beta subcribers would have purchased the game by now? You understand my reasoning, I hope, something is just not adding up. The numbers are not jiving..... and numbers do not lie. Could you please elaborate more on this 50k server cap, any official announcements with that in it? I have only seen the 10k cap. Thanks, |

Though we prefer to call it open and honest discussion, you may name call all you like, won't change our opinions much. You're in our world now..... hope you enjoy it. There's an in-game log with the total number of online players? That's news to me and to anybody who's ever played the game, unless said log is available only to specific people, such as community staff, GMs, developers, etc... There was a screen post launch, but it didn't accuratley show true online activity and it was removed from public viewing shortly, thereafter (I assume so as not to expose the low population). To the best of my knowledge, the only in-game indicator of membership is the clan journal which barely showed 15k the last time I tablulated the numbers. Even that figure is misleading, since it was verified that the total clan count contained ex-players and deleted characters, thereby making the actual clan membership total lower (potentially much lower). So, Signus, please post proof or would doing so further expose you as representing Aventurine in an unoffical capacity (since nobody else seems to have access to this mythical online membership log). If the log exists and it legitimately shows 17k players, I believe it's total players, not online concurrent players (just like the log that was publicly viewable when the game first launched). If that's the case, are the 17k players all players who've ever bought the game or active players only? We'll probably never know, since it's unlikely you'll post any proof. ~Ripper |

Since you're speaking of items which Tacos brought up pre-retail release - he also stated (numerous times) that you would NEVER have to pay to play DF, without having first had the opportunity to try the game for free. What does Blizzard's staff size have to do with anything we are discussing? |

I remember the op of this thread made a statement about funcom employees doing some negative viral posting? So, if we look down upon people doing negative viralling; then, what do we do about people attempting to do smart-assed viralling? |

you ppl are not making it easy for me!!! AV has limited Server Capacity to support Siege battles and so on... i never said that the server can only hold 10k players! Now here are the Facts for the EU server and the NA server: first here is a link to the expansion that is put in the game right now! That is the reason why the hype is up again on the forums about Darkfall! http://www.darkfallonline.com/expansion/ The EU Launch was the actual...uhm us DF peeps call it payed Open Beta Launch! With the NA Server you can think of as a relaunch or actual Game Launch. example Vanguard opened free trials Island which was a actual relaunch by the Devs Statements!

This thread needs deleted. "I TOLD YOU SO" threads are against the rules and considered harrassment. Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware "Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product." |

You are still not addressing the implication that if the Server Capacity is at 50k, and a Mod states 17k currently ( how he obtained this information is questionable ) how Aventurine justifys opening a second server. This is the point of my trip on these forums today, to point out the glaring problems with the "Number game" that is being waged by -Both- sides of the arguement. Without factual data, backed by official releases every number quote is meer speculation. If we judge by released information, official information, the Server capacity and then make informed speculations on the games subcription base or active players things begin to blur. I question the validity of 17k subcribers, even playing devils advocate and allowing said subcriber speculation, points to a glaring disparity on where this game should be to justify a new server. You could make all this speculation go away if you or anyone would simply state that Aventurine recieved addtional funds and is increasing their base market. THAT I would understand perfectly, but as to date we only hear speculation of finacial failure and to judge based on their EU "Publisher" ... lets just say people are not lining up to back this indie firm. |

Finding the trolls are really easy in mmorpg.com. I just press the posters name, look at his profile page and his recent forum posts. You will see that the trolls have page after page of attacks on Darkfall, and hardly anything on other forums. You Jimmiman99 are a troll. Not the worst troll in here, but still a troll. Just check your forum post, all of you. If your post are about a game you have never played or have no intention of playing you are a troll.
I honestly don`t understand why you do it, as I would never spend my time flaming hello kitty. It`s a really sad thing to do, and your mmo (if you have any) must be really boring if you waiste this amount of time on a mmo with 10k players.
Beside, we don`t need you to tell us what the flaws of Darkfall is. We know what it is because we play it. I do look forward to a forum that consist of real Darkfall players. And have no fear, we will flame everything we don`t like in Darkfall. |

ok i am sorry but this just sounds stupid now! if you did not follow the game why do you even post in here? they must have the funds to improve the game cause nobody threw the damn NA server in there face!! i just tried to explain to you guys why there are not 300 k Players in DF! that is all! The players that are there talk sometimes about how many are actually suscribed but! most of us do not care every pvp game has it's hot zones DF has many of them. just experiencing the Full Loot system is worth 50 bucks! |

Please refrain from insulting HKO and it's fans. At no point have I seen fans of HKO swarm and spam every forum they can find - with nonsense about how HKO is better than all games ever to be created. With that in mind, and the amount of trolling done by DF fans (still to this day, especially with the rabid lying which often accompanies some of the pro-DF trollpostings), I would think long and hard about how fitting your post is to many representatives of the DF community, starting with the OP, and moving on down thru this very thread even. |

Originally posted by SignusM I see the troll is strong within you... I do not see how a game, having 10-20K active players 5 months after release qualifies for a victory dance. I would say its the other way around -a fiasco, a failure, and big one at that. I cannot see any MMO business model to hold on long on these numbers. But what do I know, I haven't even played the game to know that MMORPG needs more then 20K people to be successful. I must be a hater cause I said something bad about something that you love and cherish so much, it makes your mother jealous. I guess you've never heard of a small little game called Eve Online. They operate in a very similar fashion actually... Server farm that keeps getting upgraded, steady growth over several years, free expansions every several months or so. They are now one of the most successful MMOs out there. Whereas you have WAR that gets a million subs, then down to 300k, Age of Conan 800k down to like, 90k. Darkfall started small and is growing, just like Eve. Seems the healthiest busniess model so far, if you want to argue that. Darkfall is a small indie niche game, it's numbers are strong and growing. It's not supposed to compare with WoW, or else it probably wouldn't attract as many er.. passionate, people. You're just as misguided as all the other trolls who think they've made a point, when instead they've just proven they don't know anything about the game.
And for the post underneath you, oh I KNEW this post would attract trolls, infact I said exactly that. Guess your reading comprehension fails pretty hard, no wonder you don't know anything about Darkfall.
Woah woah wOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH You WISH the game was growing. Initially Darkfall sold about 10,000 "pre-orders" and then continued to sell 1K-2K per week after they fixed the store. At some point the game probably had more than 60K subscriptions, until players started getting screwed, people started hacking, macroing became the new Beatles, and the customer support pretty much told everyone who contacted them to F-off. I played the game from start till about 3 months into it. My ENTIRE guild loved this game and so did I. It had it's flaws sure but we were having fun. That is until we ran into a group of hackers that killed us naked when we were in full gear. That was before we were constantly attacked while hunting mobs by naked speed hackers. That was until one of our members was banned because THEIR game glitched and let reds into towns and he was killing them and THEY reported him for hacking. The entire guild decided to quit Darkfall for many reasons. I've seen recent videos of Darkfall PvP and it looks like Counter Strike on crack. People jumping all over, shooting arrows with no stopping except to get more stam from magic. Running around in full plate and shooting arrows and magic like there is no ecumberance. It's absolutely ridiculous looking and a game that supports that kind of play is only going to fail. Sorry |
