Just to be clear the xpac isn't coming out in august. They're just 'revealing' it. Which, considering they've made announcements about it in the past means this doesn't amount to much. |

Still though interested to see what it brings if it's coming in the near future, if they can make pvp and citys more meaningful I'd be interested. They need to have a win back campaign first though, they have another thing coming if they think those people they lied to and mislead the first time will pay them again before seeing first hand what has changed. Needs to be coming realativly soon though, atm there is alot of bored people, it's been ages since a good new mmo launched, if its not coming in the next 4 or 5 months they are going to be going against the next gen of mmo's and there are some exciting titles there. If the game doesn't start to grow strongly during this period of no mmos it's only going to be downhill population wise once aion hits.

One thing in the initial stages was that they were toying with a very high level cap or none at all at one point. I wouldn't mind seeing a few of these with an expansion;
yes, that would be great, my only hope is that Funcom gives dynamic content more attention and set it as a priority for the expansion, for example: if the goods are limited to a region, and people can actually transport those gods between zones using some kind of 'caravans' to make good cash, that would generate hours and hours of perfectly repeatable gameplay on all servers and give the market and item's price some real sense. the caravans could also be attackable/lootable by anyone, that would create a pirating profession which would lead to bounty hunting , why not have bords with wanted players on them? they can even add feat points related to those professions... the possibilities are endless and the only limits are what devs are setting upon themselves because AoC as a technical application can be crafted easilly to do any of the above and much more... it uses DreamWorld Engine which other mmo devs can only dream of...

Reached level 31 bear Shahman last night, I am having a fun time playing but unfortunately when Champions Online comes I will not be subbing to AOC. I still encourage people to play AOC because it truely is a fun game now. Perhaps if Champions Online fails in some odd way I'll be back playing AOC again. |
