Problems up the wazoo. Why should any reasonable person have faith that AV can deliver anything they promise from their past performance?
What AV always has done is stay true to their promise. They promised and described the game they delivered and i have no problem experience that while i am playing it. Problems and bugs are to expected with every project and i experienced not many bugs in these game. No wonder you have problems with having problems in faith to others if you think AV didn't delivered the game they promised. DF would be the last MMO i think of doing so and there are really candidates out there they fit much much more on that.

As we all should know (But you are happily ignoring) saying "Darkfall is going to be an epic game." is a lot easier for AV to do than actually making it so. Have you bug tested the expac? Have you checked out the lagg that weather may or may not cause? Have you seen the effects of the new customizable spells? Dose the village system work as intended? All these questions and a few million more must be answered before a sensible person begins to praise the ground AV walkes on. Your jumping the gun a little here......... Now this could be the PATCH (I refuse to call it an expansion just because AV dose so for PR purposes) that turns the game around. Brings it out of its beta state and makes it somthing close to what was origionaly intended. But it just as easily could be the bug ridded, exploit stuffed, laggy, glitchy mess that kills the game off totally.
Well i will. I expect from my experience with DF so far that i get not disappointed. -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- "There was suppression of speech and all kinds of things between disturbing and fascistic." Raph Koster (parted $OE) |

Pop-quiz, hotshot!
What prominent figure at AV made the following statements? "you will never have to pay to play Darkfall, without first having had the chance to try out the game for free (via a free trial)". For intelligent people, this is of course, a paraphrase (as will be everything that follows); however, it is what was stated by... "Advanced AI that can beta test so well, that the game itself can not distinguish between the ai-bots and actual players." "We will never announce a release date that we cannot meet; because we don't roll that way." "We are slowly releasing new subs to the general populace; because, we do not wish too many people on the server to mess up everyone's play experience," Then, AV got a bit of money from subs, and they upped the money they paid the server farm people, and VOILA - no queueing problems. But then, they decided they don't care about the player experience - because they have had the online store open, not for the normal 10 minutes a day, but for how many days on end now? Why do they no longer care about ensuring a great player experience? A year ago, our prominent AV person made the statement that DF was already more feature complete than ANY game at its release (which was a time that was nearly a year before DF's limited retail release began.) THEN, upon retail release, comparing the official website's feature list to what was available - DF released at about maybe 35-40% feature complete.
With these few examples, I have to ask - why are you lying? Bare in mind, your opinion on what people should/shouldn't do (i.e. stalk developers on the darkfall forums, INSTEAD of following feature and beta links on the official darkfall website - do not matter one iota in this arena. We are interested in fact which prove, or disprove, the bold statement you have made (which I have highlighted in red).
I expect an apology for such an appalling, INTENTIONAL misrepresentation (read - LIES) about this group called Aventurine. |

You sure know alot about Darkfall as a new user. Let me guess, you are just the average old troll who makes new accounts all the time.
Now move along. |

Let me guess, your just a bitter fan who doesn't like criticism? Now move along. |

So, now that you've made an attempt to discredit what he says without actually addressing it; is he wrong or right in what he says? Or would it be better if I reposted what he said since my account is older and has posts in multiple games' forums? If the content is accurate, be it pro or con, account age shouldn't really be relevant. Those tactics are reserved for the official forums. -mklinic "There's a point I think we're missing. |

see that is the right quote : "Our hope for Darkfall is that you won't spend a cent on the game until you've tried it and decided you want to play it." " The AI has been helping us test a large part of the game almost as if players were in it. " For the release delay have been mentioned and announced valid reasons as they occoured. Do you have any proof for they used subscriber money to buy equipment ? How come they can launch in NA now following your logic ? Does it mean DF got thousands of new subs with the shop open 24/7 so they can effort a NA launch ? Possible explanation, For the longest time DF Community consisted from a community not higher then 50k people and suddenly they got 300k applications. Isnt it more true to common sense that they simply don't trusted that hype ? That many of those where just curious, hyped and would not buy the game ? Dont we see there estimation now fit ? Most hyped people from last year simply dont fit in DF and Aventurine did good not to fell to them and open up a couple of server but wait and see and update equipment as they see fit.. How much really end up buying..the number of those who tried was overwhelming enough.. Darkfall relaeased at about 75% -80% ..the fluff stuff that was not needed comes now with the patch to make the whiners and carebears happy who in really dont fit in Darkfall to give em some fluff..The core of the game and all what i love DF for was already in the game at launch. It got optimized , balanced and whatnot and now some fluff stuff gets added in with the expansion..

Just stop all of you. This thread served its purpose in that the unpaid shill got you all going back and forth again. Does anyone still even care about this game other than the 15k playing? Doubt it so no point in keeping the debate fresh. Time to move on and upward to better things. |

So you don't like this patch? In your eyes have AV done a *shock horror* bad thing? I find it strange that you as an ardent fan admit that AV have done such a thing. |

Soooo... in other words they are adding things that were supposed to be in the game before the initial release and charging extra money for them? Nice. "There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer." |

They aren't charging anything for this expansion (read as: patch). I think they just are of the mindset that bug fixes and corrections are called patches, and additional content being introduced is called an expansion. I'm not so sure I disagree with the terminology. |

All boils down to the execution. Who cares if you can call it a patch or not, in the long run the only thing that matters is how beneficial it will be to the game and its subscribers. But one thing is for sure: they already promised tons of things, so they better be ready for a backlash if they have been inflating the contents of the expansion. |

WSIMike, dear sir, leave some room for darth to get off the stage, he has lost all arguments. What he essentially says is: "DF is perfect for me already". That is his last line of defence, and yes that being an opinion cannot be proven wrong. Which means, everything else he says is wrong, he knows its wrong and he is falling back to his line line of defence. |
