Soon as people started getting to 18-20, it was a mass exodus to the new zones where PvP awaited. Tonight was crazy as both sides used all sorts of tactics to eliminate the opposing side. From strategically placed Kisks ( portable spawn obelisks ) to flanking from canyon walls and everyones favorite, the baiting into the massive zerg. For me, my favorite was taking a small 9 man team into the enemies zone and running around taking out groups of 2-6. Eventually they would try to zerg us, but we'd run around in front of the zerg still killing Elyos while being chased. One of us got it on Fraps, so I can't wait to watch it. Must have been frustrating as hell to watch your fellow Daeva's being slaughtered while trying to catch us, lol. 8 more hours of mayhem left!! |

I'm not the one who frapped it and he was going to post it on some wierd site I know nothing about. So as soon as I figure out where, I'll get a link to it. |

Most folks will not pay to be ganked and all the posts that have been on this site saying so will cost the company in renewed subs. Well except if they intend on only getting initial sales like Funcom did with AOC. There needs to be a balance if there is not the game subs will suffer. |

I'm not sure what you mean by being ganked as that has nothing to do with zerging. Being ganked equates to not having a chance / choice in your defeat. Fighting a zerg requires skill which long time DAoC fans know quite a bit about. Zergs are advantageous only to an extent. Eventually, people get bored, anxious and impatient and they make mistakes. It's not impossible to defeat overwhelming odds as it just requires a talented group of players. |

This is the way real PVP games are and have always been. Every time you log in you will not form a full party just to go out and enjoy the game. You have to take chances. Sometimes you will be alone or maybe with just a friend or two. This brings a level of excitement to the game when you are out knowing that anything can happen at anytime and you may be attacked by a party that consist of more people then you have. There is no greater feeling then being outnumberd and still winning a fight. I would not play a PVP game thats not like this. AMD FX-4100 Zambezi (OC at 4.3GHZ ATM) |

Originally posted by Elsabolts Anyone considering a game based on PVPVE should expect to be attacked at random. If that's what you're referring to as "ganking". Expect this in any game or server that has you entering into a world or zone that incorporates open/faction pvp. Why would that cost the subs of people who know what to expect? Unless you're referring to those who don't research before buying. In the latter case, natures law takes over "survival of the fittest". They'll eventually disappoint themselves out of gaming all together.

I remember Running through a Rift the other night in Aion China to be greeted by 2 seperate Raid groups (consisted of 18 players to each raid group) and i tell ya it was Chaos, as the Rift we went through was limited with how many ppl can port through we were eventually greatly outnumbered, we lasted 4 hours in that rift and several Kisk later we decided to call it a night after we had what felt like the Whole of Elysea chasing us , the feeling was Epic and i can only assume there will be alot of this when NA launches and i cannot wait to be a part of it. Defending your home land, saving the Noobs, tearing the opposing faction a new A-hole, just too much fun in my books.

Again i want to point out that the OP was out looking to gank, folks will not put up with that all the time or at least not for long. Devs need to balance this part out. |

Originally posted by Elsabolts It is Balanced, Rifts only open at certain times, in random area's throughout the map, you will not see mass ganking fest going on lol, ppl will call for help and ppl will come, the Abyss is PVP central, it is inevitable that it will happen here but like someone said, survival of the fittest, kill or be killed. You actually get Quest in game to infiltrate the Opposing factions homeland, you will encounter ppl along the way if you don't kill them they will kill you. It isnot Ganking it is merely clearing the path of the Obstacles that lay in your way to your Quest location, i'm sure you would kill a mob that was in your way, why not a PC. |

If this is the case then i can live with that i would have a choice on entering the area knowing i could get ganked. If pvp is not a choice then your gonna lose folks. |

Ok, again you claim I'm a ganker or that the entire night was about ganking. In case you didn't notice, I was on the underdog side for a majority of the night. Elyos were zerging one of our zones with 30-50 people against 15-20 Asmodae to defend. As for my 9 man group, I hardly call that a gankfest as we were fighting same level players right outside their main city. You apparently failed to notice me mentioning they had a much larger zerg chasing us while we slaughtered their fellow comrades. Amazing how we were able to kill as many as we did with a group of 20 chasing us all over the place. Yes, your right, the 9 man gank party is definately a reason not to play Aion. Especially since the opposing side had much larger groups chasing us around. So, listen up for once... we were the underdogs taking on smaller groups that broke off from the main zerg cause they got impatient and / or bored. Not my fault 20+ Elyos can't seem to figure out how to kill 9 Asmodae. |
