TOR began active development in Dec 2005. I personally believe we'll see launch in Q4 2010 or Q2 2011. |

In the UK, the websites that are taking pre-orders (for very attractive prices) are stating end of November as a holding date. So I would geuss EA has told the retailers to hold space on the shelves over Xmas, although I would geuss that Jan/Feb is going to be a more likely date. |

They are using the Hero Engine. Supposedly, it's stable right out of the box. I'm not saying they didn't do a lot of programming and add a lot to the engine so it would do what they want it to for their game, but they didn't start from scratch building an engine. So that should have, in theory, sped up the development process.

I thought i read that they were still undecided on how the end game pvp would play out. 2009 seems a little optimistic imo. |
