This is  directed to the usual suspects who hijack threads or start threads with these long tangents about their philosophy on MMO games. It's ridiculous. If you don't want to play the game, then don't. But enough with the long winded speeches about how this game should be more like SWG and less like KOTOR. This game is being made by the same folks who made KOTOR, therefore it will be like KOTOR. Period. So either learn to accept that or get some therapy.

  They have said numbers of times that they are not going to make it anything like SWG.  So they are not apealing to the SWG's who quit or are still playing.

Hi, I read this site alot, but its the first time im actually posting.

Ive been following swtor since they announced it, and comparisons between it and swg have been many. I never played swg, but Ive read about the CU and NGE and it seems the game was complex, difficult and then SOE made it too easy and mainstreamed it into oblivion. Alot of players felt cheated and they want their sandbox back. Thats fine. Ive felt the same myself in a few games.

However, just because a mmo is star wars, does not mean that whatever company that is developing it HAS to abide by those players' vision of what their favourite game could still be. Bioware does things quite differently, mainly story wise. And that is the opposite of what swg was. sandbox vs. emotional theme park, if you will.

But I dont think these people want swg. they know what bioware can do. and what I think they want is for bioware to try to incorporate as much of what was great about swg and as less of what wasnt.

and that is not a bad thing, I think.

Bravo. Excellent first post, and you hit the nail SQUARELY on the head.

Unfortunately, some people have an absolutely irrational hatred of SWG, and will shout and scream any time ANY idea from that game is suggested.
