So I reinstalled again, Using a new account so I would be starting from scratch again, After a long hiatus, I have Original WoW copy and BC... My questions are.. If i'm starting again from scratch would I need wotlk right now? Or at which stage would I need it? I dont want to be spending money buying the expansion if i'm not going to use it for a long time? Please dont flame me as basically im a new player to this game when I played before I got to 42 human rogue before I left, That wasnt very high at all.
Please reply if you can help, If you cannot please dont reply. Thanks :) |

There isn't any use for WotLK until level 68 unless you want to play a Death Knight after you make a 55 character, or if you want to have the Inscription profession right from the start. I played this game all last summer and I'm getting really bored this summer so I think I might resub too - unless someone can suggest a game that's better. It ain't about black or white, cause we're human. I hope we see the light before its ruined. |
Rogues are OP in PvP, Shamans are getting buffed as well as warlocks. Paladins/mages are stable. Hunters and warriors are, as they always have been, a consistent class to play. No point in getting Lich King until you are 55 and want to play a DK or want to hit 68. |

I would go back to my old account and lvl my 42 rogue. Great fun leveling a rogue. No problem just activate your old account. Leveling with a stealth character is great fun and with the new patch 3.2 you'll switch between PVE leveling and BG's leveling. I hope it will be published around the end of July. So I would keep the rogue and only buy WotlK when reaching the 60's. |

no need for more replies all the stuff someone can use that isn't high to go to wotlk is in the game without the expansion. You don't need it until level 68. This is a message to the general populace of MMORPG.com as it is literally a black hole of fun that once you are swallowed up by, it is very hard to escape and makes everything in gaming a little less fun. Best thing you can do is do your own research and stop reading these boards because nothing will ever be good enough and everything will suck always forever if it makes its way into a discussion here. |

Don't do it!!!!!!! But seriously WotLK can wait till you meet the level requirments to go to those zones. Leveling is a lot faster now though, and should not take you long to get up there. |

I think you are going to get a pretty standard reply of "you don't need it for a while". As stated, unless you want to have Inscription as a profession then you'll be just fine for some time without WoTLK. You can either wait until you get a character to 55 so you can create a Death Knight. Or, if you don't want a DK, you can wait until 68 when you'll likely end up heading to Northrend to level. There might be some other caveats, but really, if you don't level quickly, then you can certainly hold off on getting the expansion until you reach one of those benchmarks. -mklinic "There's a point I think we're missing. |

The only real benefit you can get from the lich king expansion prior to level 68 is getting bound inside the city of darnasus. You could use your hearth stone and then have access to the teleporters in that city that link to all the other major cities. It is very convenient if you hop around the world a lot, but I would skip it if you are feel you are a new player to the game. Most of your time will be spent focused in one zone for longer periods of time. It might be better if you keep your bind points closer to where you play and fly back to towns when you need to.
