That's some seriously OLD news about Diamonds. It was posted in the patcher which everyone uses to log into the game, on their homepage, and went out in a newsletter. The only fault I see here is your own. And on top of that, you threatened them? ROFLMFAO You got what you deserved. Even though I posted here, don't think I actually want to have a conversation with you. |

Nowhere on their website(especially the diamond purchase screen) is it posted conspicuously that diamonds can't be used for 30 days. How are any new players supposed to know what they did months ago? I had an account for about 3 weeks, before they decided that any criticism is verboten. It's no big deal as the eu Runes of Magic is a much nicer place & doesn't have these problems. Oh, BTW, i didn't threatean them, i did turn in a complaint to the BBB as they took money from me & then banned me from the game without refunding my money. I also contacted Visa, Discover & paypal about their nonsense. |

Your inability to do your own homework about a game is no one's fault but your own. Even though I posted here, don't think I actually want to have a conversation with you. |

Look fan-boy, they took money & then banned me to keep me from using said diamonds. How is that my fault. Just take your little fan-boy worship back to your mom's basement & let the adults talk, 'K?
P.S. just to show you what their priorities are, i'm banned from the forum & the game, yet i can still log-in to buy diamonds! |

I was looking for something to play until Aion came out so a friend talked me into playing some RoM. 2 days and I am already bored and having a hard time logging in. The Warrior is about one of the most lame classes I have ever played. I have no desire to start over and none at all to continue playing this boring ass game, even for free. |

The AH thing (which now only lets you buy game gold, not items) was more to appease the players but they had trouble with fraud until they implemented the 30-day wait. I seriously doubt they banned you because you "complained". People complain all the time about Frogster and they aren't banned. Heck I've posted a number of complaint threads on the forums and never even gotten so much as a warning from Frogster. MMO games would be pretty cool if it weren't for the people. |

On Topic: I have to agree with the poor customer support. Players have gotten two responses to errors since beta testing a) We are looking into it. b) It is working as intended. This enables them to ignore bugs until an untested hot-fix patch can be put in place in hopes that it works. Half the time it doesn't. |

Perhaps I'm dense, and I haven't read all of the posts in this thread, but could someone kindly point out to me what exactly was wrong with the warning? If someone had written a message like that on a forum I owned, basically extorting me, I would come down a lot harder than a mere warning. The essential essence of the post was that banning paying customers would have a negative impact on the game. However, it was worded in a fairly offensive manner. There's much more constructive ways that the OP could have posted that without seeming like they were saying "Stop banning or I'll stop/I'll get others to stop paying". The company might have some faults, but giving a warning for an offensive post is not one of them. |

It started with me sending in a support ticket to find out why my diamonds which i had purchased on a saturday had not been credited to my account until monday. Since my original reason to get them was for a weekend special, you see why i was upset. When they informed me that "oh well, it's YOUR fault you missed the special too bad", i was miffed but decided to use my diamonds in the AH to get some money for equipment. This was how i discovered no diamond usage. This prompted my 2nd support ticket. Once i got their reply of "It's not our fault because you should have read the forum", I posted on the forum asking if anybody else thought this was not a classic example of a Bait & Switch(advertising something that isn't really what they are advertising). After all, if you own a business, you can't send out $50 gift cards(that don't contain any printed caveats as to restrictions) & then say when the customer gets to your store that "oh those are only good on purchases over $1,000.00" You either have to have the "some restrictions may apply" or specific examples listed on the cards. They did not do this at the POS diamond site. Within 5 minutes of my posting my thread it was deleted & i was issued an infraction for "bashing" frogster. Sent in another support ticket asking how to get a refund for my useless diamonds, the response this time was "there are no refunds". At this time i told them i was going to call the BBB & file a complaint. I was banned less than 10 minutes later, except as stated earlier from the diamond store which i can STILL logon too! I had already decided to quit playing RoM US due to the way the support staff had acted & the way that the GM's & GTM's on the us forums acted. All i really wanted to do was give away the Jade & Vermillion stes that i had not used yet, so that someone could enjoy them. I am not a RoM hater as i play on the EU RoM, it's just the us version that has (apparently) all of the A**holes working for them. Sixpax Says "You're free to use the diamonds the instant you get them on the cash shop, which is where they are meant to be used." Umm no. I ordered them & they charged my account at 9:45am on saturday & didn't credit the diamonds until after 5:00pm on monday. Gotta love that "instant" 54hr service.
PS. Oh BTW Bruwin, it's called whistleblowing, not extortion when you inform a company you are filing a complaint about what you feel is an illegal activity. |

"Do not discuss the decisions of the moderators'" seems to be his favorite reason. So even if you give constructive criticism, you still get banned or outright deleted.
It is apparent that a few representatives of Frogster are trolling here under assumed names. I suppose that is one way to combat the truth. |

Generally speaking, I've been pretty happy with Runes of Magic. I'm a very casual player and it meets my needs. I also think some of the bashing regarding the f2p model, diamond purchases and mass bans are a bit ridiculous. All that being said, I've never been thrilled with Frogster's customer suppoprt and now I have my own example of it to deal with: I last played the game sometime in August - other games, work and life have distracted me from RoM. One of my favorite casual games (Dungeon Runners) is being shut down soon and many of it's players have discussed which games to migrate to and RoM seemed to be the game of choice for many, so I patched it up and tried to login. I was able to launch the client, create a new elf, but when I clicked "Enter World" the client immediately closed. No error. No entry in my event log. Nothing. Just instantly closed. Upon searching the official boards, the only consistent them for this problem seemed to be a GM telling folks to submit a support request, so I submitted a request. It basically went like this:
Maybe if I was paying a monthly fee or if I had purchased a large amount of diamonds I'd be entitled to a little better customer service. I'm a little surprised that I can no longer play the game that I've been able to play well for over 6 months, but It's just a game and I'm not going to lose any sleep over not being able to play it any longer. I've already uninstalled it from my system. I'm not bad-mouthing Frogster--they get enough of that, most of it unwarranted, IMO-- just relaying my experience, which is, unfortunately, negative. ~Ripper |

My latest problem with Frogster belongs here. A recent change to the EUALA and a further explanation by a mod added up to (paraphrasing) "we are now banning all accounts that show up from an IP address at the same time". That thread was locked and another was started (7 pages total), in the new one I asked if there was going to be some form of discrimination that allowed people to play w/ family members or roommates. Both threads were deleted. I started a new thread w/ the same question, and it was deleted. I started a second new one and it was deleted. At this point I had received no warnings talking about spam, trolling etc, which we were told last spring were necessary before banning players. So I started a third thread, same question quoted from the last 2, but with some clarification and a plea that a mod at least PM's me an answer to the question.
I'm now banned (3 days) for trolling, with no "official warnings" even though their own policy says they must issue these warnings for a ban to go into place. I understand that I was trolling, but they never answered whether a player could be banned for having their wife/brother/roommate playing on a separate PC at the same time. Therefore the question remained legitimate.
And btw, they also deleted the "official notice" post that told players the EUALA had changed in a major way, a GM responded that it is our responsibility to read it in whole and acknowledge any changes every time we log in to the game. |

I play RoM on and off and find it to be a standard grind fest attempting to copy what works and implement it in their quick cash scheme. I have heard complaints like these from friends who have tried it and after reading this thread I have deleted it from my system. I don't support greed or ignorance the two things that seem to be this companies business model. |

Originally posted by eviltuinhek I understand I was in the wrong at the end and deserved what I got, but the old GTMs would send warnings. I feel that the community deserves an explanation regarding how TOS/EUALA will be interpreted by the GMs and GTMs on certain issues that could affect a significant portion of their player base. |

So far I have no problems with them or with support, hopefully the company keeps improving because I have seen many complains, I cannot talk from these one complaining from my point as a player I am happy with the game, the game is not perfect but in comparison with other F2P is one of the best. |

I tried to warn people about these nasty guys just after release (see: "Avoid this game."). Quite a few of the swell fellas who populate the game chimed in to let me know just what a jerk I was for daring to say it was a ripoff. Another, apparently a person oficially associated with the game, flat out called me a liar when I related something I had seen the mods state on the forum.
There isn't much good to say about how these folks run their business ot their game. They are trying to suck you in and grab your cash in my opinion. That is all they care about.
I hope my warnings saved a few people some aggravation. |

I see you're still hard at work shilling for ROM. Just read these threads and you see the great number of people that think this is just a plain bad game. But the same old 3-4 people keep defending it, and are usually attacking those who criticize it. Hmmm, it's almost like they work for ROM and created an account to counter any critique. A company that treats their customers like crap as many have testified to right here would have no problem planting a few accounts on a site like this.
Maybe a new server will help alleviate the lag problems a bit.
I do suspect because of the MANY negative statements about the game to be found here, the f2p scam artists have ripped off a few less people than they might have otherwise, despite your eager complicity.
