Jaskell with a great reply to the disgruntled "vet". Just because you get the free trial does not mean you know the current game.

One issue that SOE keeps failing to realize is Griefers at the Darth Vader or Princess leia. What do i mean is people who have already gotten the badge keep coming back griefing others from getting theirs.

Best way to stop this is have either of then keep a list of the names called and never call them again. This will stop all the griefers and problem makers.

Once a player is called, that player is not called again. If you participated in the public testing you would have realized this 2 weeks ago.

Locking this thread.

The question is, is the game worth coming back to?

I am being totally serious here.

Was it that the disgruntled vet's point was invalid and there was no griefing going on at these locations? Or was it that he was wrong about the invites? Or both?

Oh and out of curiosity, is there a link to the thread so we can see the follow up?

EDIT: On a reread, I noticed the locking thread part. But still would like the link.

The point is that the devs 2 weeks ago on Test Center fixed the potential problem, the poster asked this question yesterday (the game update for empire day went live today).

And yes the game is worthwhile playing, PvP in Theed and C'net (due to increased tokens given if you are special forces), nice loot to trade in for your tokens (8 person speeder, rebel and imperial house signs, 2 new backpacks, and lots more).

And the 8 person speeder can be deconstructed by a DE to get a different appearance, makes it faster with more "health".

The devs also added in trader and entertainer quests as well for empire day.

Just some more "crits" from the new community manager who seems to get his feelings hurt about a great, many, things.  Nice to know that SOE continues the great customer relations that they had/have "against" current and potential players.  Thought the free months were to show "vets" how much has CHANGED.  I guess some things NEVER CHANGE.  ( some people actualy don't look much at the development forums unless you've been trained by years and years of screw-ups and CHANGES from SOE Austin as you and I appearently have been)

You forgot to add all the exploiting, 3rd party "hacks", still bugged walls and floors in PVP, LS jedi not being designed for PVP, etc, etc, etc.  If it's so great, how come I just left a couple of months ago?  (3 accounts)  Yep, certainly worth playing,  Where?

So locking a thread is considered being "put down" to you?

So… if you do not participate in the public testing at test servers,
and ask questions about how things are done… you don’t get an answer.
Instead you get your thread looked.

No locking a thread is not a put down, however

If you participated in the public testing you would have realized this 2 weeks ago.

When there have been many threads by players and devs about how the "needed fix I am sure the devs have not thought about" and the poster demands something fixed that was fixed in the normal testing cycle over 2 weeks ago. And it was not the new community manager who posted is was a real coding dev.

Any company with some self respect should not… well, never mind.

So, you have to both follow the testing at TC and be aware of what’s posted the last 2 weeks, before you are allowed to ask questions without getting your post looked?

Sounds like the game I want to go back to… not.

And that "coding dev" sounds like, when he grows up, he wants to be just like Blixtev.  Great customer relations, again.

If I ran my business like that, well, I guess I'd have as many customers as SWG has.

Draakull needs to get a grip and keep his real life stuff out of his job, not everyone wants to hear what he and his "little girl" is up to all the time.

the utter professionalism exhibited is fucking mindboggling.  when i worked at soe, if had even breathed at a player wrong like that they would have thrown my ass thru the fishtank windows.

i dont understand how that douchebag STILL has a job over there at all.  thats just insane

Games i'm playing right now...

So if i try the trial and post about it. oh wait i cant post on the $WG forums already lol.

The folks at SOE's Austin studio have been openly hostile towards their customers since shortly after the NGE went live.  Unfortunately, the hostility has spread from there and it pops up from time to time from the EQ2 devs as well.  Hell, when one of the developers can keep his job after passing bug reports to his guild so they can farm raids for gear, you know they aren't even bothering to pretend to have anything resembling professionalism at this point.

I think the folks in Austin have gotten away with being complete douche bags to their customers because nobody pays any attention to what is going on there.  The Smed has admitted he doesn't look at the SWG forums (he reads the EQ and EQ2 forums regularly).

It is a rather interesting situation, as the SWG dev team is almost as angry as the SWG playerbase.  The playerbase is still angry that the game isn't very good (to understate the horridness of SWG), and the developers are angry because the playerbase doesn't shower them with praise for the crap they add to the game.

Yeah, at this point it seems like a no-win situation for players and devs.  Both have inherited a post-apocalyptic virtual world.  It's hard to tell who is more bitter at this point.

Wouldn't you be bitter if you had to work on the NGE all day long? At least when I get off work every day I can be proud of what I've accomplished but the SWG devs don't even have that...
