The Star Wars Galaxies 6th Anniversary/Empire Day re-entitlement promotion The Star Wars Galaxies 6th Anniversary/Empire Day re-entitlement promotion kicked off this past weekend and the emails will officially be sent this week. This re-entitlement program was aimed at accounts that have been inactive (closed) longer than 60-days and phase 1 included about 30% of the eligible accounts that have been inactive between April 19, 2009 and January 19, 2008. As of the time of this posting not all of these accounts have been re-entitled, that process should be complete by 12:01 AM when the re-entitlement “officially” kicks off. The remaining accounts will begin getting re-entitled beginning June 29th and have the same duration of entitled time. We are very excited about the 6th Anniversary of Star Wars Galaxies and the Empire Day celebrations and hope that you will take this opportunity to come back and check out all the fun. Thanks! If you need to reinstall SWG and don't have the CD's any more, You can download the client by clicking here. This is the trial client but it can be used with a returning vet trial or a full account, no additional download is required.

Just to point out...you say that after every "re-entitlement" promotion and sub numbers never seem to improve but decline.... -------- "SOE has probably united more gamers in hatred than Blizzard has subs"...daelnor |

There are people on the OBoards that are complaining about the population drop on the designated transfer to servers. Bria is one of them. I transfered form Intrepid to Bria when the FCT opened. At first the population on Bria was much larger. Now it does not appear to be much bigger then it was on Intrepid before I transfered. It looks like a large portion of the FCTs went to StarStrider. |

SWG has been spinning the drain for years, if vet's wanted to come back they would...they don't need some cheap SoE hand-out. Perhaps if they handled this game properly they would be trying to tempt us with the meger table scraps they consider a 'deal'....but that's fine, MxO is dead and SWG will follow it if Old Republic is half as good as it appears. |

You need glasses then. Lets look at the GCW numbers tomorrow if they put them out, they were up over 1,000 for the last time they were reported. Unfortunate that that is the only hard numbers you can get from the game though. And the Bria poster was slammed on his own galaxie forum and the main general discussion forum, Bria is doing just fine. |

What server do you play on, Valeran? I put together some server population stats recently, you can see the effect of the Free Character Transfer on the different servers. As Gutboy says, paticipation in the GCW ranking system has increased by 2000 players or so since GU10 and I will be making a new chat on that later tonight. Green: Destination server West Coast USA Servers Flurry - 1219 GCW Ranked players and 188 Rank 2 or above player cities. East Coast USA Servers Starsider - 1749 GCW Ranked players and 216 Rank 2 or above player cities. European Servers Europe-Chimaera - 827 GCW Ranked players and 162 Rank 2 or above player cities. Here's some stats on how the servers ended up as they are currently due to the Free CTS:

So now the GCW stats are good enough to make the case for good population numbers? I thought only a tiny portion of the population participated...you cannot have it both ways. They start handing out GCW points like candy and all of a sudden there is a population boom? Get real. -------- "SOE has probably united more gamers in hatred than Blizzard has subs"...daelnor |

The FCTS just shuffles the deck chairs. As for the increase in GCW rankings...so now it is good enough to show good population numbers because it supports your stance? You can't have it both ways Badger. -------- "SOE has probably united more gamers in hatred than Blizzard has subs"...daelnor |

Trying to use GCW number increases as a means to substantiate increased general server pop? Get real man, I know SOE pays you to suck them off and all that, but this is just ridiculous. Of COURSE GCW numbers are going to increase when you make it obscenely easy to get points. Show me concurrent user data for the last three months of server up time or gtfo. And don't tell me SOE doesn't have them, because if they don't then that means they aren't keeping accurate records. Or show me finacial statements for the last fiskal quarter that prove a substantial subscriber base increase. Don't have those either? Hmmm, didn't think so.
SWG is dying out like a stuck boar. It's still going to thrash about and make a lot of racket and get blood all over the place, but in the end it's going to die. SOE doesn't know what they're doing, that much is obvious. They have absolutely no idea what their players want or if they do they just don't care, which is worse. Stop defending a game that should be so much greater than it is. There are plenty of figures to PROVE that after the CU and NGE SWG lost anywhere from 400-700k subscribers. Since NGE SWG has not seen subscriber numbers much above 150k and you are seriously going to defend that? You go from slowly, but steadily, gaining subscribers and fans to losing at minimum 60%+ of your subscriber base nearly all at once and another 20% over time and you think that's OK? You think having NEVER recovered those losses after all these years iis OK? You think blatantly lieing straight to your customers faces about what is going on is OK? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Wait....wait for it....AAAAAAAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I've kept myself mostly quiet about SWG for all these years, but I'm just sick of people still bending over for them. I'm alright if people enjoy the game, not my business to tell them what to like. I have a MAJOR problem with people trying to advertise for the game, spouting it's merits (that aren't there btw) and then defending it at every turn. If you like the game then go play it quietly and in another 3-6 months you can wonder where everyone is as your servers become ghost towns again.
Oh yeah, Badger? You might not want to post all those GCW figures. Because the -majority- of them weren't even above 400 and lot of them were like 0, 12, 5, 2, 0 etc. Just a protip.
Edit: Meant 400, not 300. |

So Badger, if we take your hypothesis that there's a surge in population based on the numbers you present in regards to the GCW, can we also posit that almost half the servers are practically empty because they have 12 or fewer officers? It appears 12 of the 25 servers are red and have less than a dozen officers. If I'm understanding you, the bump in officer numbers on several servers is indicative of either a migration of players or of new players/old vets jumping into the game. So how do you explain such low numbers on half the servers, other than the recent migration? Do you think that's a positive reflection of a game with a healthy sub base, and should those 12 servers be shut down or condensed? I'm just curious as to what your take on that is. |
