What invasion? I haven't been able to play Ryzom for the last few days, so I'm still stuck on the island. Is there some event going on? Current: None |

Yes it is. The Kitin have once again invaded the security of the New Lands and are swarming over the landscape in great numbers. Sadly some new players allready canceled their subscriptions because of this, as they feel they´ve been betrayed and set up, into a world where they´re not able to do anything. Of course these beasts are pretty hard to kill and they attack in teams of three each. But if you´re carefull pulling, you get only these three and not more. Of course it is hard for a new character to survive on his/her own against this massive onslaught of monsters, but so it is for the higher characters. Only advantage they have is, that they can travel a bit more before being overwhelmed. Teaming up with older and newer players is the key now. Each can do something that helps! Nobody is useless! I´ve teamed up with three newbes and three vets two days ago and we had one hell of a time killing lvl 200 MOBs without any incident. Sometimes we barely survived, but thats what I call exitement. Some people sadly seem to think that an event that will last only a few days, does ruin "their" gameplay so much that they seem forced to abandon ship. :( I find this very, very sad and don´t quite understand it. Only theory I have is as follows: I think it all comes down to most other games having established the feeling of being able to master everything on ones own, Now if something unpredictable, unexpected and out of the ordinary happens to those who are used to following a pre-established route, It would be a never before heard of outcry of rage! But! And here´s the point: Ryzom IS exactly about such unexpected things happening. But ever so often something happens to break that routine. All I can do is invite those who feel like they´re not up to the challenge alone, to get together with other players, preferably higher ones and So, are you ready for a challenge that is playing Ryzom? CU P.S.: And this is the exact reason why I´m a fanboy of this game :p Ryzom, we dare to be different.

Originally posted by Piquedram I am fairly new to Ryzom and have to say it is one of the most elegant games I have played up to now. It is complicated and intuitive at the same time, and has a way of immersing the player with the environment ... from harvesting to watching the wildlife migrate to new areas while curiously inspecting you the player to see what your intentions are. However, as much as I love this game .... I have stopped playing until the invasion is over. Maybe Im just to old (rl) and to young (level) to get into this kitin explosion thing, for the past few days each time I log into game all there is to do is something involving killing kitins. Ive had enough of it, so will patiently wait for the completion of the event to get back to "my" Ryzom.

Haha, I can't exactly blame you there. It's the entire reason I've gone away two days, only to return today to continue my leveling on Silan. I didn't want to run out of Silan missions and such and get bored. So I've kind of taken some time to do everything... Hopefully the invasion is over sooner then later so I can go to the mainland. |

Allright, here they go! We´re going to kick the beasts scrawny butts! atys.ryzom.com/boards/19/topics/323 Quote:
Homins, I know that many are busy supplying our newly built camps to fight the kitin. And the better supplied the camps are the less Kitin are found in the region. This is, however, not enough. We need to strike back, all together, all at the same time! Zorai, Fyros, Matis, Tryker, Kamist, Karavaneer, neutral... all united against the Kitin threat! If you're like me and you have seen these camps, you can doubt their effectiveness, without questioning the strategies of our leaders, I think we should not put all eggs in the same basket. So far, we have had a few isolated initiatives taking place. killing one group of kitin, two, and a few hours later a new swarm appears. I want to deal the Kitin of the Depths, infesting the beautiful bark of Atys, a blow so terrible they will never be able to recover! They have come as close as 100m from the gates of Zora and I'm sure other cities and other regions are under threat as well: this is unacceptable! I therefore propose that in each country in each region armies gather, armed to the teeth, and ready to strike the Kitin simultaneously, so they have nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. On the 4th day of Folialy, in the 3rd Atys Cycle of Jena Year 2546 [*], we will strike! This attack must transcend religions and nationalities. I pray for everyone to gather in one of these four places: the Agora in Pyr, the Yrkanis stage in Yrkanis, Frogmore Place in Fairhaven, or the Grand Plaza in Zora. It will be hard to coordinate troops all over Atys, in every region. But i call upon every Homin, from any rank or standing, to stand up and fight this Kitin Scourge! If we strike together, there is a good chance we can scare them into being more prudent. In records of previous Kitin attacks we have also seen that a strong counter attack can push them back for a while. End-Quote
So, who´ll be there to take revenge!? I´ll be there!
