There has been a rumor floating around for a while that there is a type of Legacy system in TOR where when you reach top level you have the option to produce an offspring and continue the game as a new class. What do you guys think? Sound like a cool way to explore other classes in TOR? Or would you rather have the option to make 8 chars on the same server one of each classes on one account?

I much perfer to 'just' make another class and play through with them. But personally I am not an Alt fan. I stick with my main. Host of the Only Un-Official Star Wars The Old Republic Vodcast - www.youtube.com/user/uswtorv |

Yeah, ummm.........isn't that the same thing as rolling an alt except with back story of your father/mother?
Sort of reminds me of how LoTRO uses morale instead of health to get around the 'your character doesn't die and magically respawn' thing. Playing: Tera, BF3, ME3 Waiting on: Guild Wars 2 |

I would rather have the option to roll alts at anytime. Very rarely is the class i start with the one i end up playing the most. An alt usually becomes my main. |

I kind of like the idea. I usually research every class pretty heavily before deciding on my first character, so I'm not an altaholic, but I dabble in them from time to time. This seems like an interesting idea/option. |

This sounds like an exceptionally useless feature. Why is my kid old enough to be a bounty hunter? "Love not only bears with others' faults, but cheerfully submits to whatever suffering or inconvenience that such forbearance makes necessary." |

I'd rather be able to switch class with my main character whenever I want like in SWG. |

I'd much rather switch classes on my main character than re-grind a new character. I like playing different classes and different roles, but I hate the way some games use alts as an "extend your playtime" feature and make you regrind the hours of boring leveling just to reach end game and be able to play your new class. If I couldn't have switchable mains, I'd next rather have many alts on the same server. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

Is that the attitude we are taking now? If SWG did something good, we should just go play SWG instead of suggesting TOR do it as well (which, btw, you can't change class in SWG anymore.) Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

I'd prefer to just make a new one. That way I could have one of each class, instead of having offspring and killing off the other one. ____________________________ "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but I know World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein |

Yeah but this game isn't SWG, and it's not gonna do everything (nor should it) that swg did, or no one would play it. What's wrong with the emu everyone has been so excited about for years now? |
