Sorry, i dont mean to attack no one, so the people that enjoy Aion... i am glad for you :) i just dont :S The game is kinda turning me off super fast. It feels like any other game. :S I dont feel no rush of action or anything, no immersion..at all, and yeah, is only level 10. But :S why pay for a game that is only fun halfway trought? I dont know.. maybe im not looking were i should be looking??? I dont even have a clue why i am fighting for or why am i doing this pointless quests?? No one talks much, since there is no need to talk much seems like.. Im not ranting, i just want to see if anyone else feels the same??? any solutions to enjoy the game?? The developers said "you are free to do anything" But the game feels very linear to me. |

well, it being a beta, your only getting up to lvl 10 on Asmodian (though you can make an Elyos and go to lvl 20). There is supposed to be a cutscene about how you arrive when you start, but well, its beta, they took it out for now. Beta #3 is where you can get your Asmodian up to lvl 20 and then #4 you can PvP. So don't think that the story is gone and this is what we get as soon as it goes live, they still have to implement stuff. Keep playing Elyos if you want, i jumped on mine and lvled mine up some more. (personally i like the Elyos better :P ) |

Yeah, they took a lot out for these first betas, also remember that we're playing version 1.0 and they are going on 1.3 in retail. You're missing a lot in these early betas... Just hang in there a little longer :) |

What is missing from this client that will drastically change the gameplay so much that someone who doesn't like it now, would like it then? |

Well, you wrote a review about Aion right? So why not take a little bit more from your time and try searching on AionSource for exemple, about what's new in the upcoming 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 version of Aion. So if you REALLY are interested in Aion, you should read the patches ;) I would love to give you the links, but I am gonna watch a move at this time, so have fun reading :) Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy? |

Once again another post on why someone does not like a game why even post about it just move on. I am sorry you expected to play a game that is still in closed beta when you should be testing it. Of course you could not get a good feel of the entire game because you only went from lvl 1-10. I admit that you can tell off the bat if your going to like a game or not but I myself need to do abit more then lvl 1-10 to start screaming how I dont like it. I have played numerous MMO's like AoC capped my character and found that the end game was not fully implemented. Played WoW for yrs and after awhile doing the same thing over and over again I got bored. But the point I am making is that I had to give the game a chance if i really wanted to play it I don't go ranting on a forum to try and get some morale support on how the game is terrible I just move on until I find one that appeals to me. I am sorry these type of posts are really meaning less but yet for every game that comes out we get people that must continue to post these type of messages yet most of the games they complain about are still doing good. |

Story telling wise, and one of the bigger left out's is ....... Voice-over's. A lot of people are not getting some of the cutscence's because they are missing this. Theres more you can see from browsing a couple fan sites including aionsource. |

I think what they are referring to as "missing" is the story and the background of the race. like what you are fighting for and how you came to be in this place. Even after saying that, I my self after reading the text in the quests got some an idea of why is my character here and what is he/she fighting for. so reading and linking each quest with another will fill the puzzle of the game story in. But when it comes to game play, I'm not sure how much different it will become, but I know that Aion is not for everyone. I do enjoy it though, and looking forward to see how it becomes once the PvP and the Abyss are there. I'm not saying that Aion is all pros with no cons, but if we look at everyother mmo each person will have thier own pros and cons for each game. Different people have different tastes, there will NEVER be an mmo that will please every gamer there is.

People that QQ about Closed MMO Beta makes me sad. They sure don't know the meaning of BETA. "Beta" is a nickname for software which has passed the alpha testing stage of development and has been released to users for software testing before its official release. It is the prototype of the software that is released to the public. Beta testing allows the software to undergo usability testing with users who provide feedback, so that any malfunctions these users find in the software can be reported to the developers and fixed. Beta software can be unstable and could cause crashes or data loss. A "beta version" is the first version released outside the organization or community that develops the software, for the purpose of evaluation or real-world black/grey-box testing. The process of delivering a beta version to the users is called beta release. Beta level software generally includes all features, but may also include known issues and bugs of a less serious variety. The users of a beta version are called beta testers. They are usually customers or prospective customers of the organization that develops the software. They receive the software for free or for a reduced price, but act as free testers. Beta versions test the supportability of the product, the go-to-market messaging (while recruiting Beta customers), the manufacturability of the product, and the overall channel flow or channel reach.
For the OP information. |

1.02 is a live version of the client. It is not a beta client. The game released in S. Korea with the same version and China is playing this version right now. Yes, Korea upgraded to 1.2 and will get 1.3 soon but it does not mean that the game we are previewing is incomplete right now. It's like saying that WoW was not a complete game until TBC was released. Please stop spreading misinformation about the state of the game. It is not a true beta. The only thing that may be considered "beta" right now is the English localization. Besides that, the game is exactly like the Chinese version, which is considered a released client.

It's not a beta? Then why does NCsoft says that it's a Closed Beta? |

Because the game was released in Asia and they are testing localization AKA translation since most of the people outside of Korea do not, in fact, speak Korean.

Then if it's not a beta, why did I found NPCs that are completly bugged all over Elten? I know that they're translating, but the bug had no link with translation. |

End game PvPvE is what the first 49 levels lead up to. MMOs have never been good at making those first levels much fun, but they are required to get to know your class and how to fight the other classes. Once you get in a guild and start doing PvP raids, I'm sure it'll be a blast.
Unless of course you don't like PvP, in which case you shouldn't even bother with Aion. |

This game is not a prototype.. this is the same game as chinese are playing.. with different things... to fit our culture. What they are testing is the servers not the game.. and creating hype so people preorder. Im not complaining about the game, i didnt said the game was bad. i am 100% sure it appeals to alot of people.. i just wonder why i dont feel any excitement when playing the game.. Im sure there will be more updates and patches.. but this wont change gameplay 100% right???? Aion is a good game... but it feels like any other good game.. nothing new.. just wings... im sure i will find some pvp later on.. but so far feels the same as any other mmo i wont name. My biggest complain as i mentioned before is i dont know why in the world my character has to do this stupid quests,... i dont see the purpouse.. i dont feel inmersed on this cute world.. i dont feel sympathy for my character since i have no clue whats going on around me.. is a role game and there is nothing to help me play my role.. yeah maybe after level 10 i will get more information, but it is like forcing yourself to watch a bad tv show you dont like All i know so far.. "and i dont even know this by playing the games but by reading forums""... that both races dont like eachother because they think the other race destroyed the world.. I know this is a beta.. is a "testing" phase.. well i tested it.. and thats my feedback take it or leave it.. :3 |

Originally posted by Legsbiter A released client doesn't mean a bug free client. Just like in any other piece of software there are bound to be bugs. Hell, WoW, EVE and LoTRO still have bugs but that doesn't mean that those games are still in beta. The Aion beta events are mainly for testing translations, especially since the rumor is that we are going to get version 1.2 at launch. The simple fact that they are testing translations on an outdated version means that there are no drastic game play changes, at least until end game.
