Sure there's the rabid "All Beta Leakers Are Liars Who Should Be Burned At The Stake" brigade and the "It's Still Beta, Of Course There Are Problems" camp (who are usually far more correct) but to simply write off these sources of information (which are, at the moment, the only sources) is more than a little short-sighted. History has shown time and again that there's usually more than a grain of truth in such reports. Guess those who buy into the Fileplanet 'beta' will see for themselves.
The problem here is that the "grain" of truth is all there may be... only a grain, a very small bit. Someone enjoying the game es certainly less likely to want to get booted from the beta, and therefor more likely to keep his mouth shut and not break a legally binding agreement. It makes sense for people to recognize this and take the criticism with a "grain" of salt.

You don't really believe that beta testers are paranoid that The Man will discover their online indiscretions and kick them from their beloved beta, do you? In this virtual world of aliases and false IDs within false IDs, I think it's pretty safe to assume that unless you post up actual screenshots of your character running around in the beta of something, there's no way for a dev company to know where the leaks are coming from... and the vast majority of beta testers understand this. Which leads us to the unwelcome conclusion that the reason why we aren't hearing more glowing, positive reviews of this game might be because the beta testers are too noble to break their virtual promise, or it might be that they're having way too much fun playing in the beta to even bother logging in to these (or any other) forums, or it just might be that they don't really have anything particularly good to say about the game. |

It is impossible to say anything positive without breaking the NDA hence there isn't any glowing reviews. |

I'm pretty shure that my registered email here would qualify, I'm pretty shure that my IP would show any of my alts. But the least thing they would do is to remove any posts breaking the NDA. I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention. |

Yes yes, that's all well and good... except that not all websites conform to these standards, hence why there is ALWAYS NDA-breaking info about EVERY game SOMEWHERE on the internet. NDA-breaking is a real phenomenon for any MMO, and is certainly not confined to only negative commentary. That's all I was saying, and to argue otherwise is as pointless as it is inaccurate. Apologies to the OP for thoroughly derailing this thread.
