Title basicially sums it up, will you play it, and why/why not. Remember this is probably THE highest quality F2P mmo out there once it is realeased.. So without further adu, poll!

IMO F2P MMO's just don't have the revenue to have the staying power of some of the P2P MMO's being released. Not to mention lack luster customer service. This doesn't mean I won't play it as an escape from my favorite P2P mmo of the month here and there but I don't think it will be my MMO of choice in the long run. As for rich? If you skip 3 McDonalds meals a month you have paid for your P2P game...lunch is overrated sometimes...I can do without 3 in a month to play 30 days worth of my favorite game. |

I'm not rich, but I've never been a D&D fan. So I may try it though, but I doubt I'll like it. Didn't like the game when I tried a trial of it about a year or so ago. If I had the money, I would go with Lord of the Rings Online. I wish it was that game that was going free to play from Turbine and not DDO When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there! |

If I played it again I would probably go for the subscription option rather than the free one or maybe just pay for a month when I want and play free the rest of the time. The cool thing is that you have the choice. There is NO miracle patch. 95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch. Hope is not a stategy. |

i will certainly give it a try! even if ddo is crap for p2p mmorpg it might be a very good f2p game i hope codemasters will use the same business model for europe sometime in the future

I definitely plan on giving it a try. I have a soft spot for D&D. Whether I stick to it or not will depend entirely on whether I can get in-game loot equivalent in power to the cash shop items. I don't have any problem with players getting better looking vanity items as long as I don't feel like an underpowered second class citizen *cough*Hellgate:London*cough*. It usually takes me a month or two of playtime before I can convince myself to spend money, if they can keep me for that long I may actually subscribe or make use of the chash shop. |

I think free to play is good to Chinese players! but don`t have too much limits to free players |

I will carry on playing, if it makes DDO more popular then I don't care how other people pay to play. |

Sure if they do something about the 3hr log in queues as well as the constant being kicked out of it "due to server shutting down" errors...making you have to relog in and are at the back of the line once again...doh |

Yep, I'll be playing along with a few friends. We had a lot of interest when DDO first released, but even though most liked the open beta, general consensus was that the gang didn't want to spend a monthly fee for the 1-2 nights a week we'd get together for a couple/few hours to play. I subscribed and played for a little while, but I really wanted to play with my husband & friends, so I wound up back in the game we were already playing. Going F2P fixes that issue. We'll be able to play once or twice a week with no one grumbling at the monthly sub. I'm really looking forward to it, so I hope Turbine gets it right. |

Nope. The cost of an MMO is not as important as the trustworhiness of the developer. |

I see a few useful things in the cash shop: unlocking drow [not because I even like drow, I don't, but the extra build points are there] extra character slots [I am an alt-aholic! After 2 years of casual play, I have just this weekend unlocked drow!] Spirit cakes [self rez as well as other], Tears potion [removes most conditions], self shrine - these are really just conviences for soloing, unless you're in a really bad PUG xp/loot boosts may be nice, but not really useful at lowest levels [might help me through the 5-8 slump, though] Edit: lobotimist good to see you back :) Saw Rattrap on DDO:EU beta boards :)

Yes I will play it. Always wanted to play DDO more but dont have enough time to play it to make a monthly sub worth it imo. Its a really great move by Turbine and I hope it will be a success for them. If WoW = The Beatles |

Considering it. Al least in D&D you can go in buildings. I was enjoying Jade Dynasty until I realised everyone in the game is a homeless tramp not allowed even in a shop. ![]() |

Nothing free about it really. You still need to purchase the game before it becomes "free". Most people are used to going to the website to simply download the client but that is not the case. Though you can multi-class into 3 different classes i still find it oddly restricting. The community is top notch though. Its like walking into a bar with only 4 people and all of them instantly saying hi because now there are 5 of "us".
"Consolidate your own news on your site rather than spreading it around on 3 different sites. I will check the official site, but I don't want to bother with also having to check Facebook and Twitter, or whatever else they might think is "cool", because it isn't." Axxar |
