I may have to finally reactivate my Sturmgrenadier membership for this one :) Been waiting a long long time for a good MMOFPS to come out since PlanetSide died out. |

Ditto here, and Huxley just wasn't exciting me all that much. I started with Tribes as well, and loved it. Then when Planetside came out, it was like Tribes on steroids. I've been waiting for the next step, and this may be it. Most definitely one to look at. |

If you're itching for the Tribes experience, visit http://instantaction.com and give Fallen Empire: Legions a try. |

Is it a persistent gameworld? Yes. Is the character you create a persistent one that is still there when you log back in? Yes. you can do this in single player games Can you "level up" and customise your character by playing the game? Yes. also in single player games Can a "massive" number of players log into the same gameworld, meet up with each other and go on missions/adventures together? NO, which is the point they mention up to 60 players but word it in a way that makes me suspect it's 10 at a time even multiplayer components to single player games can beat that Can you're actions have a lasting and meaningful effect on the gameworld? Yes......more so than other mmos in fact as most of them are static gameworlds in which the only thing you can change is the level of your own character. Does this game have all the qualities that class it as an mmo? Yes of course it bloody well does. Is all the whining about this game not being an mmo annally retentive and completely retarded? Yes it most certainly is. i'm guessing fanboi?:) global agenda sounds like an mo tps with rpg elements to me with similar setup to guildwars, but guildwars doesn't class itself as an mmo(at least they are honest about it) |

I'm in the Alpha for GA. I've found the Alpha versions I've played to be more fun and engaging (in a positive way) than any other game in this genre to be released in the last few years. And yes, I'm not even talking about the full version or the game. And to those people whining about whether or not this is an MMO: who cares? Firstly, what's the definition of MMO anyway. I just figured it was lots of people playing online together at the same time. I didn't realise there where specific set-ups that had to be adhered to for a game to qualify. Secondly, when this releases no-one will give a crap what category it fits into, least of all Hi-Res. I'm expecting this game to p*ss all over the exhausted, tiresome pap thats out there at the moment so much so that no-one will shed a tear for the crappy old skool MMO w*nk that it leaves in it's wake. But you know what, f*ck it. I won't bother having tons of fun playing this game, I'll just go and play some dire Asian-grindfest and die of boredom, just because then I can proudly say "I play a REAL MMO"! I'll never understand why people post such timewaster sh*t on forums. Playing: RIFT | Global Agenda |

Your post began quite good, but then ran into a flaming rant of nothingness. |

The question we should all be asking here is.....why....where...what? Without answers to these very pressing questions...we are all just twisting in the wind. It's better to lurk in forums and be thought a fool...than to endlessly "Quote" and remove all doubts. |

My friend in alpha speaks highly of this game, in it's current stage, and there is more coming. From what I have read on the forum's I am really going to enjoy this game I think. Anyone interested in this game check out the "What we know" thread (http://forum.globalagendagame.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=2888 ) on the offical forums for solid "get to know this game" type of information, it will give you some good information about the game and you can learn more from there. Also the in-game voice apparently works wonderfully and sounds amazing, it is TS3! Really looking forward to this game, hope I can participate in this beta coming.

Lost me at ... " you cannot shoot and fly at the same time… " Why would you take away the best part of Tribes? You bragged about how this game was the best since the amazing Tribes game, then you turn right around and say somthing like this. It blows my mind that any game developer would TAKE AWAY anything from such a great theme. Shot jumping was a skill ! This is a huge problem with game developers. In nearly every part II game out, they always remove key features that made the game fun in the first place. Ever notice how the TOP best games are always the first release? I know this is not a new Tribes game. I am just using your example...

well clearly not everyone agrees with you. the author said himself that he didn't like jetpack shooting in tribes.
Including something like that could dramatically change the gameplay. Hi-rez probably just wasn't looking for that kind of play. I'm sure they tried including it at some point, but found that they didn't like the results. |

I played TR. And from what I DO know about GA, GA seems to me to be Tabula Rasa 2.0, with upgraded graphics, more armor suits, and a re-orientation of player attention. Instead of fighting off-world against some aliens, now we're fighting against each other on this world. Sounds a lot like clan pvp from TR to me. Not only that, but the class system sounds like its gearing up to be NEARLY IDENTICAL to the tier based graduation system that TR had (i.e. Soldier - Support -> Commando, Grenadier -> Spy -> Sniper, Engineer, Medic, etc....). The only real difference is that they got rid of all the hocus-pocus and the Logos altogether. Show me documentation that proves me otherwise. -.Sleepless. |

well first of all, the leveling is not tier based, and im not sure where you picked that up. You pick a class and level it up with a skill tree like with mostly any other RPG, with ability to spec to multiple different roles within the class as you see fit. Also, and this is important, there are no dice rolls in GA and no autoaim. It plays more like an arena shooter, relying on your character's spec and gear, but heavily on your skill as a player. And from what I can tell, AvA will not be like TR clanvclan. Like I said, there is a 45 day campaign where a large number of agencies who belong to several alliances fight with each other in instances and gain/lose territory, represented by hexes on a map. Each agency can keep their own territory, and the territory sticks with them even if they switch alliances. And this appears to be the main focus of the game, from where I stand. Unfortunately I can't say much else because I play neither GA nor TR. But I am capable of using google and doing minimal research, which I strongly suggest you should try before making any random statements with no evidence :/
EDIT - go to the official site, globalagendagame.com and look at the frequently asked questions (answer center). You'll learn a lot. If that isn't enough, go into the forums. There should be some helpful stickies in the general discussion section. |
