Sure. I am in the close-beta too and i plan to post a brief review after i tried it.

Do it in the Aion forums, its not like people are going to mmorpg.com, seeing it 10 times on the main page, and then entering the General Discussion forum and going to get surprised and delighted by reading something new that they couldn't get by looking in Aion specific forums.

I really don't get the attraction some people have with Aion, I guess it's a fab and it's "cool" to like Aion. That's how it is in Asia at least. The game itself is terrible imo.

But Waterlily...waterlily...Aion has wings111.

Aion is the best MMO to be released in years. Maybe the style of the game does not fit you but I cant see how you say the game is terrible. I dont like World Of Warcraft, Lord Of The Rings or Everquest 2 but I can honestly say they are great MMOs that are just not for me.

Just like any MMO soon to be released.  However, unlike some of the previous MMO's to have released in the past year this one is doing exceptionally well in the east..

It's kind of like people liking Anime. I mean I really tried and the only anime I can bring myself to watch is Samurai Champloo. But I can see how all of these japanophiles like any anime as long as it has jiggly cartoony boobs and some random guy screaming in japanese. Just like I can see any of these japanophiles liking Aion just like they loved Lineage 2.

Any game where you can have male characters looking like 14 year old girls,  is a total win with japanophiles.

Edit: As far as Aion itself, I've played it. It's nothing special. Yes, it has wings but the flight mechanics are unintuitive and restrictive. The graphics are anime and the game play is WoW-esque.

Is it a good game? It's a decent game. Is it groundbreaking and better than WoW? Absolutely not. Combat freezes you in place and as a PvPer, I cannot conform to a game that freezes my character in place when I'm fighting. I'm sure that it won't matter to some but as an old school PvPer, I need to have full control over my character at all times.

I like Aion and It's maybe because as a warcraft fan I never really played WoW (over the level of 10?). Not that I didn't like it, but at that time I don't think I had a job or a PC to run it other than my pops. Maybe people who played many MMO's see though it, but I think this is one Asian MMO that to me plays like a western. All points aside, I just like the game and it's not even about the flying to me.

Hmmm, my character doesn't look like a 14 year old female and it doesn't look anima either. the game itself is not like WoW at all since in AION PVP is a main theme of the game and getting some of the best items in game is through PVP or crafting as well as having some nice stuff as loot. While I wouldn't say AION is groundbreaking, it does have some excellent features and it's not centered around just fighting boring a$$ AI/PVE mobs.

And about the freezing in place?? I don't freeze in place at all, something wrong with your machine? or are you talking about game mechanics?? or CC (crowd control)?? is their some MMO somewhere that does not have forms of CC? Anyways the game runs pretty smoth and I'm playing on the Chinese server right now. 68+ (68 wins) PVP fights the night before and 71+ (71 wins) last night, no freezes and great character balance. SRSly people who play a game and dont even get half way to max or play a game less than a week should probably state this before they make statements about a games overall appeal.

Lol you should avoid posting screenshots when your graphics are on low, those look terrible.

I tried real hard to make a older male that has real testosterone in their blood, and I could *almost* make them look about 20 years old. Better than some asian games, but still not quite there yet.

Not all Anime/Manga chars have the lollipop look, i actually read the Manga Berserk, which i started 8 years ago and the characters (expect one of them, Griffith) look like real man . Well could be because the manga has a medieval setting ^^.

As far as the game goes, it's not so extreme like people state. I saw worse, i hate those Anime where even 30 year old people look like 14.

I played Star Ocean actually and was confused and shocked at the same time.

for the record i HATE anime but i love Aion. I hate how people generalize things soo much nowadays...

and what do you mean combat freezes you in place???

you CAN move while you are fighting, but you stop swinging when you do...did you even play it???

It is nothing more than someone making more uneducated generalizations. Much like saying that all Americans are materialistic, all Europeans have bad teeth, all Asians work in sweatshops, and all Italians are mobsters.

Note, I am looking forward to actually playing Aion myself this weekend but you are wrong on WoW combat. You can definitely do pvp on a full run in WoW. Standing still in WoW pvp means death. I plan to make my own opinions on Aion and its combat system but I am hopeful atm.

Here is a link to a blog on this site explaining the benefits of moving in Aion's combat.  Even though the blog is talking about PvE the same systems stands for PvP as well.

Just as a side note, standing still in any PvP game is going to end in your demise.
