I've played every MMO on the market, and have never been caught up in the pre-game hype. Then I met Aion in the beta. I think Aion is that answer we have all been searching for. After playing the beta, i've missed raids and basically lost all motivation to play WoW anymore.
Anyone else feel this way?
btw.. I'm the kind of person who hates the asian market MMOs, but this one doesn't feel like it. This is the one MMO i've played where I don't find myslef finding flaws and wishing for something to be different. If your a smart gamer, you will understand the greatness this game is going to have..if done right with end-game content and things. |

While I understand the feeling of boredom and burnout, don't you think it would be a safer bet if you let the game grow on you a bit more and get past the honeymoon period? I liked what I saw as well, but I would hardly call it enough to make an educated decision on whether I will stick with this game long term or not. |

Originally posted by Xasapis Well put, but i'm actually having some trust in the company on this one.. specially after reading the responses they gave in the interviews, b/c i think they will listen to the community and they also seem to have their heads on right when talking about what the goals need to be, for the game to be enjoyable. i've yet to do this, and i think it's right.. so i'm putting all my eggs in one basket. |

AION might as well be the next WOW expansion. It's the same old tired crap... Former xFire user... I only wanted a game tracker and messenger, not a screenshot taker, video recording, broadcasting piece of bloatware. |

I've been playing the Chinese version for a while, I have played enough to form an opinion that I won't be purchasing it. Former xFire user... I only wanted a game tracker and messenger, not a screenshot taker, video recording, broadcasting piece of bloatware. |

I'm glad to hear your opinion. I'm a former WoW player, and this is the first time in over a year that I've been able to really get into an MMO. I paid 5 bucks for my preorder to make sure I get into the betas, and if I continue to have fun the way I am, then I'll definitely be paying for the preorder. |

Id have to agree about the lost motivation for wow since Aion's beta. The game is amazing. So many spells that I havent seen since Final Fantasy, "stoneskin" "silence" ect. Im just hoping the endgame is well done, and not a lost cause like what happened to AOC |

Most people dont like the prospect of losing their 1/2/3/4/5+ year character to a new game, nor staring from scratch hence the hate for any 'new' MMO heading out. As with all MMO's, one day you will have to let go of your character! |

Aion is gonna hook a lot of people looking for RvR type PvP I think. Aion will succeed where Warhammer failed, releasing polished and with content. Warhammer runs pretty bad but Aion runs smooth with hundreds on your screen which is what you need for massive PvP battles. Aion's biggest problem will be shedding the korean grinder stereotype people assume it as. One major difference between Aion hype and AoC/War hype is that Aion hype is from players who have actually played the game not the company pumping out the hype, NCsoft doesn't have a Paul Barnett or Erling Ellingson shoving bullsht down everyones throats. This game will be successful in the west, it won't be a "WoW killer" and it doesn't have to be. People are not going to be jumping into Aion with gigantic expectations, the people who have been following it know exactly what they are getting. |

Another few post wonder trying to sell a game. Aion is not bad, but since NCSoft is running it, it will be bot heaven. I don't play bot games and there are a lot of players like me. Besides they really blew the flight mechanic, 1-5 minutes is just idiotic. So if Aion is the answer, the question was, what is the next game to avoid. |

Maybe you should base it on the actual game, because by your logic WoW and any other mmo would be avoided because of gold spam/botting..
Also the flight mechanic was probably put into place for Balance reasons. Yes it's used for travel but also for combat ect, so having some limits might be intended. Besides it didn't look like a huge hinderance in any of the videos I watched. |

I will be waiting for you all in-game that's for sure. I agree you can't base your opinion of any game at the lower lvls, and god know's aion plays like any other MMO between lvl1-25. But if you give it enough time then you will start to see the core of the game style. NOTE: play with a group of friends or join a legion because if you solo you are gonna be missing the best stuff the game has to offer. lvl10-30 flight time = 1.5 min's flight time avg. lvl50 = 5-10 min's flight time avg.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |

You obviously haven't, because there isnt even end game raiding in Aion, and all of the PvP is open world rather than arena based, so I don't even know how you would come to that conclusion short of ignorance. |

I heard they do have PvE raids..thats what the guy said in the interview. I think PvE raiding is a must for any new MMO.. raid community is just so huge. Basically it keeps the ppl busy that can't handle pvp, and it gives us something extra to sink our teeth in. |

Op, welcome to "mmo fever." This is the only answer you can see because the fever has taken hold, I'm not sure what it is , subliminal mmarketing or what , but this post is a classic case of the fever. |

Since this month II re-subbed with Lineage II, and when I played the Aion Beta, Lineage II just didn't feel the same anymore. Lets wait for the beta coming weekend, and those following. I hope to see some actual PvP during beta, though I have my doubts... Till that time, back to Lineage II and see if I can make some nice levels for the time being |
