My PC is over 2 years old now. I run many of the settings at max in 2560x1600 resolution and get 50-60 fps. I rebuilt my son's computer for $270 and popped in an extra 8800 gtx. It runs the came with everything at make in 1600x1200 resolution and gets 35-40 fps. My friend as a 4 year old rig, runs everything on balanced and gets 35-40 fps. Or just look at all the posts where people are posting their performance and PC specs. It's pretty evident that a fairly modest PC runs this game well now. The one thing you will see over and over though is the need for a dual core processor and 4 gigs of ram. Both very cheap components now. |

That stinks. Had a chance to swap video cards, assuming maybe you had an extra laying around or one you could borrow? I know when my guildies video card died, it started to artifact, crash and simply not show many textures until it finally died altogether. I'm not saying your card is fried, but maybe it's worth a look. |

Nope, I don't have any extras lying around. And my integrated video card can barely run anything, so that isn't an option either. |

Do items render correctly when you get near them, or is it always that way? I was goofing with my vgclient.ini file the other night and the game looked similar for me. Current: None |

I dunno, I guess. For some reason none of the textures will display.

This doesn't look like a texture problem it really looks like it's a fog issue... ok try this, log into the game and type the command /setfog 100000 If this affects your graphics post a shot of what it looks like. Also go into your vg install directory. Then go into the bin directory. Sort the dir by date and look for vgclient.log this should be one of the most recent files. Look through it for clues about things that might not be right. It is hard to make much sense of but maybe there will be something helpful in there. I just looked at mine and there are plenty of things that look like errors... [06/10/09 21:04:03] WARN: Warning: Failed to load 'UEM_wolf_F_char': Can't find file for package 'UEM_wolf_F_char' [06/10/09 22:32:50] WARN: Warning: Missing Action Action NPC_ACTIONS.PARTICLE_FIRE_IMP_TAIL_MAIN_630971 imported from file ..\Assets\Actions\NPC_ACTIONS.acn referenced by ..\Assets\Characters\Meshes\UEM_gargoyle_M_char.uem [06/11/09 00:20:41] INFO: Localization: ERROR: Localize() failed because key doesn't exist! (Package = VGClient, Section = Help, Key = AchievementDisplayOptions) I think the key words are the first ones after the dates. WARN and INFO I guess are not critical... Also you can try reading forums.station.sony.com/vg/posts/list.m this thread has a lot of old info but there might be something useful in it and it explains a lot of options. From the forums here is one with a similar issue you might want to watch this thread. forums.station.sony.com/vg/posts/list.m Also try turning tone mapping and HDR off maybe bloom off as well.
