I do not think that anyone should be allowed to be slaughtered in an online video game, not just kids. However, I really think you're overreacting (3rd time today! ). Just play the game as it's meant to be, if you want to keep complaining in this way, it's the same as boycotting the entire gaming industry.

Moreover, people are just creating a normal char that looks like a kid. They aren't creating kids, but small people as the face customizations are the same for everything. How are they going to limit those?

I seriously think that the people who think the way you are are the problem, and not the opposite. I hadn't even thought of people creating small chars to "do some things in secret" Lol.

Play the game the way it's meant to be played, and chill.

You don't like to slaughter chars that look like kids in a GAME because you're too sentimental or something, then don't. Don't duel them either. You don't want to create a char that looks small, don't.

i made the smallest possible char, and it had a beard... most children these days (teenagers rather) look like they are in their 20s, so anything that looks somewhat young should be changed in games... so stupid

Sorry Joppari, I'm calling BS on that. Forget Aion for a moment.

I Can't understand the mentality of a person who's OK with games full of bloodshed, slaughtering human beings, World War II games etc., but is so ferociously against games that involve killing small, kid-like characters.

I hope you change your mind in leaving the community, you seem like a decent bloke.

The ability to roll a character with a face resembling a child is less offensive than it is a reflection of how anime can conflict with Western culture and morals.      I am not offended because I don't believe this was done to appeal to sicko's for marketing reasons, and if any one actually believes they are killing "children" in AION, they should game less and play real life more, but AION is certainly not going to be the source of their issues, nor would it resolve them.

I think this picture pretty well sums Aion up.

     I havent had a chance to try Aion yet......Like any other MMO, it is hard to get any feel for it from the boards......I have no idea if it is going to be another easy mode WoW clone, a PWI copy (ie flying as the main attraction), another Asian grinder, or a game that is unique and stands out on its own.......Im hoping to get in beta but i I dont I will most likely wait a long time before trying it......Im sorry but 4 million Asians playing it is not enough to convince me.

The killing/harassing a child prospect in Aion has been blow out of proportion in my opinion. After all, this is all in the eye of the beholder. The idiots who decide to 'capitalize' on this will most likely be banned.

Game-play and immersion-wise Aion just does not do it for me. Also, I expected a lot more from the visuals. This game is simply not good enough to compete with other games out there.

I have a child too and I'm all for protecting them from harm online. In fact my kid isn't allowed any online interaction at all and won't be for years to come.

The game is intended for adults and teens who can afford it or even allowed to play. People that already or should know how to avoid/report certain situations. These kid-like characters are not played by children. To me that's an important distinction and as pointed out many of the mini characters don't actually look like kids especially if they are sporting pointy ears or beards.

Also no one ever dies. Unless you quit your account forever. :) And I don't recall a whole lot of blood or gore. I'll have to watch for that.

EDIT: To the picture above, it's a bit misleading there and breaking NDA as that's not representative of the game at launch.... :( To be specific I'm talking about the name...

edit 2: To those who didn't SEE the NDA it was shown to you when you entered the beta key in your PlayNC account, no it's not flashing before you in the client. But you did agree to it as a tester.

This whole "kid" thing is hilarious to me, I have to admit.

"I dun wanna kill that person, they look like a child!"

"Are you insane?! That "kid" just sliced up half of our forces because they didn't want to hurt a kid either!"

"Yeah, well it still ain't mora-gah! *dies*"

If anything, I hope there's more people like that in the game, that way when I get the game, I'll make a child-like character, and kill each one who thinks that way... :P

You can't play kids, you just look like une when you make a very small character ... But you aren't one ... everyone knows that ... you are just a small huma, where is the problem ... Gnomes/Dwarves also look like kids (in certain configurations).

I've had many in depth discussions about this topic in the past and ultimately the overall outcome was that the ESRB would not give a rating to a game where you could kill children.
