You know, I've have joked about the longing and extensive posts made about SWG,,,,but it IS a shame that SOE..and whoever was involved from Lucas Arts..had to fuck with the game that seemed to have an impressive player base..but apparently not enough cha-ching for the powers that be.... The sad thing is...even today..the game is better and more involved than 99% of the mmo's on the market...but has now become a well...forever poisoned. Only the few who have grown tolerant..can play it now. I liked it when I played..off and on for the last 3 years....I have other preferences now..so I do not play it at all. |

It’s amusing. The so called "Vets” can show up on other forums and fan sites spread their hate, rejoice at tragedies like the suicide of Jeff Freeman, even wish harm on developers families and that is all ok, but let anyone show up here to the Post Traumatic stress ward and question the relevance of holding on to a useless grudge and the tears start to flow. |

No, they would be called an 'enablement'. But more to the point, we're only here because this forum is dedicated to discussing a lost game. But you, you're here because we're here. You're not here to discuss a game or analyse its faults or lobby for its retunr. You're just here because we're here. Do you think something might be wrong with you? |

Well, imagine how ape you'd go if one of your beloved trading card games was taken away from you? 'Trading card games'. Lol. Oh well, I suppose somebody has to buy into them. Good luck with that. |

I dont play a trading card game. And im realistic enough to know that all things come to and end except the continued whining of some overgrown lap babies. |

A rather one sided arguement there, gramps. I think the majority here all know and understand that PreCU will never come back in its fullest form. What we do here though is express our disatisfaction of the chain of events that deprived us of the game as well as post occasionally on how we miss the communities we used to belong to. Some held in there longer than others but eventually those communities left so there is little they can do. They eventually find their way here and other places to post. Some posting more than others to be true. There are literally thousands of sites on the web dedicated to the expression of memories from communities, events, places and times. It is very true that on those sites, there is the occasional poster who informs them that all things come to an end and that they need to get over it. But the numbers indicate that they are the minority as the sites continue and grow even more so. Vets here post laments is the same vein that poets write of golden moments and singers write about Glory Days. I can't imagine telling the Boss he's an overgrown lap baby. Let me know how that goes. In the meantime, you have the right to your opinion and the right to do whatever you wish with your time albeit as long as its legal. So do the vet posters here. Being realistic and "knowing all things come to an end" is a personal choice and opinion that pertains to a specific topic in your life. It doesn't make you a moral authority of what is right and wrong. |

The game was great at first. It was shiny, it was new, it was fun. Everything to explore.
I really did enjoy the game at first, but it was Star Wars. Something many people grew up loving more than anything, and for me, it was a great social place to share with people with similar interests. I wouldn't say it brings an emotional response of sadness or something, but more, "wow, I am in Star Wars" sort of feel. When the game changed, and that feeling left, it wasn't fun. So Most people left. Nothing wrong with that.
I am sure TOR will give that feeling, to a different extent at least. |
