Anyone who preorders Mortal Online will get to play in July. This will probably finish off Darkfall. I hope Darkfall  survives though, so people have more options.

Yes, Mortal Online will fininsh off Darfall and if any Darkfall player says that the will not play Mortal Online when it comes out they are lying and everybody knows it.

Adventurine themselves will finish off Darkfall... as they have proven time again, they are highly incompetent!

Certainly anyone who wanted a game similar to Ultima Online.

The main difference i've seen in the two games is that Darkfall was billed as a near-strictly PvP game while Mortal is being labeled as a free world that includes PvP.

I hope it finishes Darkfall, because I don't want to stay here very long. The community is full of poeple that only get enjoyment by ruining others. I hope they stay put and die with the game, to be honest.

Darkfall could flourish if it didn't attract such a bad crowd.

But that appears to not be enough. Basically gamers are NOT fine just leaving the game and going off to do something else. No, instead they want to come smack the people who like the game as much as possible and do everything in their power to make sure the game doesnt exist for the people who do like to play it.

This is why I completely hate the entire gaming community.

I don't think any particular game is going to "finish off" Darkfall.

Aventurine is handling that area fine on their own.

If they still insist on releasing a 1rst person only view game it will never be huge. Quite a lot of players want to have a good look at their e peen when they play.

ive seen 15 year olds running a private server act better and more proffesional then the darkfall staff so to me the game is already a failed game that should just be shut down and the fact it doesent even have half the population some private server have is just a joke

Personally? I cant stand 3rd person view. I am ok with a game not being huge as long as I can find something that is MMO and is NOT 3rd person view.

This all said, I find it intresting how MO release date has already been moved back and they removed the player housing that they promised. Yet people leave DF becuase of broken promises.

Thing is about all these promises, promises are for small girls. Either I like the game as it is, or I dont. for me personally, not only do I like DF at this time I dont see any other game I would rather play. That said, cartoons and 3rd person view (and dont take this personally) is an insult to me.

I'd take first person with professional devs and a game full of content over third person and Darkfall. And I am not a fan of first person view in an mmo.
 

Short Answer: Yes.

Long Answer: DF is already dead, there are people that just haven't realized it. DF died the second their incompentent devs continued with this stream of morons who can't use google to find where the hacks are for their game then download them and disect them. Whose gonna stop them? The guys who made an illegal mod in the first place? I think not. Not to mention the lack of resources to present an actual....you know...LAUNCH.

SV has already proven to be a far more professional company with a clearly defined focus. If people enjoy DF that's great and all, I think you're all morons because supporting a company that has absolutely terrible management is never a good thing. The game in and of itself was somewhat a fresh idea that could have been great, but supporting a terrible company that has turned a great idea into something so awful is just plain idiotic.

Perhaps because the MO devs decide to tell the fans well before launch? And I'm willing to bet their website won't advertise those houses 6 months after launch.

Not sure where you came by the information regarding the removal of player housing.  It says right on the pre-order/beta page:

During the coming Beta Phases, users with a pre-order will be able to follow and participate in the further development of the core features for release. They include, but are not limited, to:

- The full Myrland continent
- At least 9 races, male and female
- Blood mix and character customization
- Main features of the skill system
- Full PvP, full loot
- Full melee and ranged combat
- Basic magic combat
- Mounts and mounted combat
- Basic GUI for the crafting system
- Resource gathering
- Basic Guild mechanics
- Basic player housing
- Basic NPC mobs and wildlife
- Hidden/secret features

Bingo!!! It boggles my mind that people can t see that. They re upfront about it and thats all that matters. If they scrap some things you want don t buy it till you get them. Not buy it then find out after the fact. Good company and bad company it s really not hard to figure out.

 I think we will be very suprised of what MO brings to the table coming release.

And no I dont think it will kill Darkfall, at all.

MO will finish off DF just like Conan will finish off WOW.  They are all works in progress.  EVE is an awesome game,  will DF or MO finish that off.

Keep in mind those are only the features that you'll be able to test in the next beta phase. They mention in that same release that by Q4 they plan to have all those features fully completed and in a polished release state.

SV has been nothing but upfront about everything so far, most probably because they've learned from both Funcom and AV that lying about things your customers are probably going to find out about anyway is bad business. Better to tell people what's going on, what you're doing currently and what you will be doing in the future. These are all marks of a great company, another good mark is that your developers have proper management, planning and work ethic so you don't have to give your customers/potential customers that much bad news.

You CANNOT compare AV to SV since AV is so insanely mismanaged with a such a terrible mouth piece of a lead. SV is active in their own forums, their website is kept updated and the info we get is usually good. I haven't seen this level of community interaction in a long time, shows that these guys actually care,whether it's about us as talking wallets or otherwise I don't know nor care. Bottom line is they care about keeping their future customers informed, interested and happy, far more than I've seen from AV.

You are comparing Darkfall to WOW? LOL. WOW has 11 million subscribers and Darkfall has 1500. That has to be the worst comparison ever.
