I think it is about time there was a new Final Fantasy mmorpg ..... I really want these type of games to die for various reasons but hard to stay away from that game when it will be something fresh and new to play and this time I will be playing with family only and not raiding unless it suits our schedule as in we have nothing better to do .... I saw the screenshots and so on and I am hopeful ....
Anyone think this is the game that will destroy WOW ? |

People seldom do what they believe in. They do what is convenient, then repent. |

This is more speculation than rumour. |

I dont think it will destroy WoW honestly.I think Blizzard will do more harm to its own game then any other company will. They have a new title in the works. That means its not a new WoW 2 or Diablo3(which is already known anyways). They claim this new title will be a new franchise and it will even compete with WoW.I will definately be trying this game out though.I played the one for playstation 2 and it was fun.It looks great from what i seen of it so far. |

Here's a rumour...I heard they will appeal to diferent gamers. I also heard my cheese has 6 but i dont know what that means Playing polished, lag free, feature complete games is carebear. Whining about a game you hate but still play is hardcore man! |

Since you are asking for opinions, and lets all try to remember that's what they are. If any game or company has the reputation and proven track record to bring Blizzard to its knees(not that WoW will ever go away, it's just too big, but it can at least fall of the giant radar it is taking up) it would be Square and its Final Fantasy titles. So yes, I believe this could be the WoW "killer" IF they deliver what they promise in regards to being more casual and solo friendly but still challenging like FFXI. |

well, it seems like wow wont live long with all the new titles coming before and at the same time as ff14. I really doubt there will be a wow killer as ff14 will propably have some serious flaws that some players wont like and vice versa. |

I don't think anything is going to kill wow, but rather some new games are going to release and take away portions of the market that blizzard has, because there just isn't any reasonable competition.
The only reason wow dominates almost every type of mmo demographic is that weakness of the market and it can't remain that way forever. However I have seen to many quality companies and rock star intelectual properties come and go to bank solely on those as merits for success. I think we can stop predicting wow killer this or that for a while.

Doubtful. More than likely WoW will just implode eventually. |

Well I just left WoW after playing it since beta. Want to know why? WOTLK is a joke, I could tank heroic Naxx in my lvl 70 epics. I could heal Naxx naked. Uldum is a joke. My pet monkey plays WoW better then 60% of you people. Problem with WoW is they made it so simple to attract more people to fill the declining numbers. Thing is the people they attracted are mostly retards that don't play as good as my pet monkey. WOTLK is like taking your old car to a dealership for trade in, while the sales guy stuffs you with cheap donuts and watered down coffee the boys give your old car a cheap paint job and then they park it alone on the sales lot. The sales guy drags you to the lot and says we have one car left $7750.00 after your trade in. You buy the car cause you are addicted, but has you drive down the road you notice the same crack in the windshield as your old car and then you realize......

Yeah no one single MMO will ever kill WoW, but it will lose subscribers to the up and comming MMO's or unless people start getting tired of the fantasy setting alltogether. |

Furtermore I am ticked off that in Blizzards great wisdom they assigned someone to modify the code so that I can no longer ride my motorcycle with my gun drawn. Like wth is up with that, they found it nessasary to dedicate resources to change that when there are so many other messed up things in the game? This is the straw that broke the camels back, to spend days making the 10k + gold to get the bike so i can ride around with my gun out then they take it away.... WoW rip |

FF 14 will likely contribute to reducing WoW's player base, but I doubt it's gonna be a BIG hit. Lots of small hits coming from various factors (people burned out of playing it, new games, time (lots of time), etc...) will bring it down from it's throne. "He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance ; one cannot fly into flying" |

Its been well known for 2yrs that the only game that will most likely kill WoW is another Blizzard themselves actually bring out. Though in my opinion WoTLK was a bit of a dissapointment, it did bring a couple of new things into play, most noticebly the game world change when completing questlines. If they could enhance and improve on this with their new game, change from the current graphics layout and bring even more inovating new things into the game. They should now know what the standards are that players are looking for, they shouldnt release a clone of WoW as that would undoubtedly fail. Full FFA PvP would be nice, but huge (ahh whats the word i am looking for here),... Huge repercussions on those that do become grief players and PvP'ers. Only times is when guilds actually go to war with each other and this could bring in allies. Again, I do expect, that the only WoW killer will come from blizzard themselves.

This is a DUH post but will FF beable to keep the numbers after the newness wears off? I am no fan of WoW but I don't hate it at the same time. It won't be a single title that kills WoW and I wish FF all the luck but let's be real. Assassin's like to do it in the dark and from behind. |

yes hes lieing. you CANNOT tank in 70gear. period. you do NOT have enough crit immunity/deffense etc. even a druid tank with auto immune crit will haev issues. Bosses in that gear can and will 1hit you for 50k, not to mention normal hits would be 15-17k+, which youd be struggling to reach in that gear. Playing polished, lag free, feature complete games is carebear. Whining about a game you hate but still play is hardcore man! |

I don't think any MMO is going to "destroy" WoW. WoW will go through the same process as other MMOs do once they've hit their peak, it'll just take longer because WOW has so many more players.
