This game aint bad (I'm lvl 65 atm so no i'm not a noob that doesnt understand turn system), it can even be fun.

But their support is like every single other F2P out there a joke, account security is minimal.

One officer in our guild got hacked a first time because when he was visiting a website that had info about the ways to beat bosses some kind of keylogger ended up on his pc.

After that he was much more careful ( the gms told him that it was his fault that he was retarded and that even though they could get him his stuff back they didnt have to).

So they got him his account back with his chars but no items, he started playing again and changed his password to something that had 12-15 digits.

And last week he got hacked again even though the pc he played on is used only for playing games (he has a netboo he uses to go on the internet).

Ndoors answer so far is if you get hacked its your problem, not ours. Good day to you.

So watch out if you play this game account security is a joke.

I'm not a no life that sits in front of his computer all day long, I'm an intern that sits in front of his computer all day long.

I would be happy if you post the e-mail between your friend and NDOORS support service because the way you're telling it isn't believable...
Also from your post I got the message that the support from NDOORS is a joke so your topic subject need a change because it's suggesting something completely different...

And BTW, i doubt that you want a support service as the ones in 9Dragons have (also a f2p mmorpg):

Hello all,
Today I am ready to show everyone, that really none Account is secure of getting hacked.
I used the Acclaim support to hack accounts. I hacked many accounts, and much of you will say omg you **** but it was just to show that NOBODY is safe of gettign hacked.
You just have to write an e-mail to the support and make them clear that the account you want to hack is your`s.
I made a little list what Characters I hacked, if your character is on the list please excuse me, it was all for testing :-) :
Bardo:
____V____
AncientMarin
Andreiyi[ro]
ByoukGyI
CULE_92
Dante91
Del_Piero89
Ener[G]y
Flying_Budha
Mizasuke
ny-healer-ro
nykw2
Sir-Jukzu
Skywal--DV-- (aka darthvader85)
tavs_in
WildHawk
Wooooo
_Black-Guy_
_BliZZy_
Cp6uja
Death_REX
Hava
Nuk_Su_Kao
NuKeR[RO]
tran1234 (when he was cs1)

Asura:
GuJo
-YiZus-

Nirvana:
Libran
Zhadowcat

Well, Asura and Nirvana sucked a bit, and on bardo I can`t fully remember all the names ^^ . I think all of them got their accounts back, IF they still play.
If you don`t believe me ask the peoples all will agree :-)
You can see here how easy it is to hack someone`s account, sometimes it was fun and sometimes not.
Ahhh can you remember when the mods made a new topic '' be careful of 9dragonssupport@live.de'' , I was that :-)
Everyone go and thank the Acclaim support :-)

Please dun flame, I had enough the last year^^ better discuss about Acclaim, what they can do to make your accoutn safe.

What you describe is really no different than any other MMORPG.

If someone gets their account hacked, the company is immediately going to jump to the conclusion that it was because they either used a power leveling service or a shady gold seller.

Exactly! Best way to prevent hack is to avoid using a username AND a password that you are using on any other forum/game/e-mail account/etc. Also clean your PC from any malware/ad-ware/spy-ware/viruses after visiting unknown sites (safest thing to do would be to let your computer be scaned against the above mentioned threats everytime you turn it on and play the online games BEFORE you browse the net)

You can’t ever win if you’re always on the defensive, to win, you have to attack.

his message ha no significant neither a not true,

because in my experience i was also hacked by using a public computer and it has a "key logger" inside of it, but i don't believe that the customer service of Atlantica online or GMs will say to his/her client that "it was his fault and he is a retarded"

even in other mmo's customer support nobody will say that word to his client...

i guess your lying and you want to start flaming here brother... ^^

I really can't understand this hack thing. I never got hacked in my entire life and I use the same account ID for every games I play and for every forums I participate. I just don't know how people got hacked, maybe lack of attention or something like that? I'm really careful with the sites I enter and the links I follow, and I have a anti-virus running all the time om my PC.

The fact is, even in games where hack is a constant problem, I play without concern. I must be very lucky then, or there is something wrong with you guys.

In the 6 or so months I have played, all 3 nations I have been in several people have been hacked via keyloggers. its not a wide spread problem as of yet but it does happen, and seems its most common via keylogger from a website. whether or not the CSR called the person flagrant things I dont believe it either. In fact there is a guy on my server who constantly tries to get people to go to a website for some fast leveling info (that should be an automatic red flag) and then when people do visit it, they get hacked within a day. Its talked about off and on in peer chat which is no surprise. Ive had a few ingame bug problems and sent in reports and the CSRs have been vary curtious even when im a tad on the angry side with the report.

Playing: Not much actively.
Games played: to many to list, been playing MMO's since 2001

This is exactly what a responsible player shouldn't do. It is like following the link tha says "you're the 1,000,000 visitor, you won!"

People have to stop being naive.

I have to agree with NDoor. Its his own damn fault. Keyloggers don't "install" on their own.

I've been playing MMo's since Legends of Kesmai. The log in features of this game is the same as any other.

And I'm sorry mate but your only 65? Techncally you ARE still a noob. The game doesn't really open up till 90's +

Your hitting the point where you can experince more yes, but its like day and night once you can accually do the fun content.

I can't take this post seriously.

Depending on the setup of the individual in question... yes, they do.

There is an entire nerd culture built around finding vulnerabilities in popular browsers, operating systems, and software, and either turning those into profit via information theft, or fixing them. It's a constant battle.

Unfortunately, not everybody stays up to date.

Let me be more specific. I didn't think I'd have to, but general knowledge isn't general. I have to remember that.

I know keyloggers "can" install themselves. That's not why I put quotes.

A keylogger can NEVER install itself. No program can technically. If it could it would have an active intelligence and that is obsurd.

Keyloggers don't self install unless triggered. period, end of coding. I can't get the keylogger mentioned by typing on this fourm can I? No, because the activation method was to go on that website or click on a link or set up to run an activex controller. Is that specific enough? Keyloggers are user error.

NO program runs itself without being activated. The activation is the person being dumb enough to not surfing safety.

Thus no keylogger installs itself. It takes two to make it work.

I also don't believe that CSR would say that he was retarded.. there's no csr would say that but as a csr they shouldn't fo that... you must be kidding.. my friend also got hacked when he send a ticket to cs they replied and says that they would investigate the account first like the usual things and it took 2 weeks before they restore the items, although it was too long atleast they really investigate that hack matter...

I don't honestly consider clicking on a link 'user error.'

Smart browsing can help mitigate the chance to visit a website that will result in malware being installed on your computer, but it's not a certainty. Perfectly legitimate websites can be unaware carriers for malicious software as well, whether it be through an ad banner, an exploit in the website's design that allows someone some form of ability to modify the website, or something as simple as a communicative entity such as this forum combined with a little ingenuity.

Whether or not a keylogger 'installs itself' comes down to what you semantically consider that statement to mean.

The way I see it, software installs itself when it does so without the user's consent.

Well anyway the best thing for you to take care of your accounts is to be wary of phishing attempts and hacking from other websites, particularly gold selling sites. You SHOULD NOT follow external links promising you special promotional events or items, and if you are prompted for your account name and password, be certain to make sure that the web address of the site you are on begins with atlantica.ndoorsgames.com.

Just a question bro, how come their account security is minimal? Isn't that your GL visited a website that may potentially have a keylogger/virus/spyware etc.? If he didn't visited that website, then he won't be hacked...Also, saying 'retarded' to a customer is just saying 'fire me!' to your boss. I don't think a GM would say that kind of thing.

Most of the parents do that... When you'll have a kid you'll know why...

1 password protected admin account and 1 restricted account where anyone can log in to browse, play and do other stuff  but can't instal anything.
