Well I've been playing the game from the start and gonna prolong my subscription again. It's started to bore me a bit but there is still no other game for me that can be compared to DF (aside from EVE perhaps, but it's already bored me). Game is good at least but I see a one major problem for it - it's heavily unfriendly to noobs. I mean the leveling system above all. While in EVE noob has a slow start but can become on par with veterans in a half an year of playing, I can't even imagine the gap between a one year veteran and a noob in DF. But it'll be huge to say the least. Not only in terms of game advantage but especially in terms of time it'll take to narrow the gap. Considering this I'm afraid there won't be any noobs in DF in a year because they gonna be owned so hard it's not even amusing... |

Come on friend the lying thing is tired now. Lying is when you know from the start that your features arent possible! Aiming for something and not achieving it is something different :) if it wasnt for the cheats that would be possible, but dont forget although cheating is possible due to coding mistakes/failures, it still takes a cheat to take it on, just like they did in eq/wow/vg and many others. It's just becuase it's full loot pvp it matters more. |

That's definitely the only real problem with DF! Thanks, I was trying to put my finger on it but couldn't because there were so many to na.... euh I mean everything worked flawlessly. Good job on the heads up, OP. |

Well, that's what I see after playing DF for 3 months. At least I know the subject i'm talking about unlike most on this forum... |

But the Op's comparision to eve seems a little strange. Its a time based skill game, unless they stop playing you will never catch up on someone a year ahead if they have the best implants |

I think the noob experience is second thing on thier list from the May 27th update on the forum:
Things to look forward to: Some of the things to look forward to in the near future include but are not limited to: Imminent massive optimizations to further improve gameplay, massive battles and sieges |

sounds like they have the right idea's, just hope they can deliver now :) To be fair the patches have been excellent the last few months and i pray that trend continues. Improving the PVE experience would also have a direct effect on the newbie learning curve if done right. Not sure they should be working on the graphics though as theres not much to complain about there, would rather they worked on content and helping newbies. |

The noob experience is directly affected by other players in Darkfall. This could make any attemt from the devs to make it "easier" fail. So i have no idea what the devs could do? More "warning screens" before login or something? |

I agree a huge problem is the other players, but simply adding a no loot timer on new players would take away the need for other players to hunt easy prey, like they do in virtualy every other pvp game i have played in...they dont need to make the game easier, just maybe give the new players a immunity for the first 2 weeks of thier sub. if they attack others then they can be attacked. if they dont then they stay safe and can skill up a bit and save some gold. Something like that would not affect anyone else but give them a great boost in thier early life. |

I guess it could be a good idea from one hand. From the other - 2 weeks in DFO is nothing... |

Before yesterday i would agree, but after yesterdays patch you can do a lot in two weeks. Last night in 2 hours i raised my greater magic from 17 too 32. Yes i already had the resources and the last fe points slowed a lot but it certainly is faster than before. So maybe with the new levelling speed a two week period may help quite a bit...though still i agree maybe two weeks isnt enough Maybe thier first month? |

tbqh, if this is the ONLY problem (what you mentioned in the op) that you consider to be holding DF back; then, i seriously doubt you're playing. could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please? |

Nah, there is a difference: I see a good game with some problems, and you... Well not sure what are you seeing |

Yea we know the are hater around that cant accept, a great game like Darkfall has people who enjoy it. How we should call those people and what to tell them to cure their pathetic lifes lol Get over it and find something for yourself to pull you out of your misery ? maybe -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- "There was suppression of speech and all kinds of things between disturbing and fascistic." With the assumption that over the next 12 months this game will continue to improve just like most MMO do I think the only thing wrong with DF is the player community itself. does your game have rainbow sprinkles and magic ponies!? |
