i agree with the post above
haveing made a big name for myself and my wow char abbedon i can tell you from first hand experiance that players need the heros of there relms to look up too and follow to aspire to be like them i was in the same position with players infront of me (although there were only a couple) its still what kept me going to aspire to there position and walk along side them as one of the greats and i do thing that this is one of the things that keeps an mmo alive..there always a great pve/pvp player that folks want to hunt down or rise above so in all sense i agree with that comment well said

I saw this trailer this morning at work and omg i had to change into a new pair of work pants :p. I put all the speakers on the shelf up and turned up the trailer...and then the music started omg i was shivering of excitement. Had my co-workers who are also fans listening, all rushed over and we all huddled up and watched it on the projector :D. LOVE ... IT!

I watched it. It was great.
Now hopefully we'll get some actual gameplay footage Wednesday, because I could care less about cinematics.

Some of you have leanerd NOTHING in the last 18 years. Cinematic trailers are just that, they are NOT game play footage. Just chek out WoW trailers, they are brilliant but they do not represent the gameplay what so ever. |

If there is no RMT, then we can measure characters by hours, and all players are equal when measured that way. If you are skill level 50 in swords, or level 50 in your class, and I am also 50, then we both know we played the game roughly X hours to get there, and that we did Y amount of quests or mob grinding. I don't care if you did it in a week, a month, a year. I know you did it, and you know I did it. We have both climbed the same mountain, and now we both stand at the top. I don't care if you got there faster or slower than me, I know you did it the exact same way I did, one step at a time. Add RMT to the equation. How did you get to 50? Did you do exactly what I did? I have no idea, maybe you skipped content and paid, maybe you did some content and paid some. We are not equal, and it is not fair. That being said, I'm going to buy ToR on release and try it. If it's ruined by RMT I'll cancel my sub, but I'm definitely trying this one. Also, I"ve heard various stories, some saying RMT is big time in the game, others saying it's just a rumor, or you can just buy cool clothes (which still sucks, but whatever), so I don't know exactly the story on this. And yes, awesome vid, all hail Bioware! |

I hope that by the time SWTOR is released it will support the new graphics hardware cards and we will at last be able to experience a bit of what we saw in this and similar trailers. I trust BIOWARE they make very good games with nice stories. |

By the way, I looked all over the net and could not find any specific reference to TOR being an item shop game. I saw the reference to RMT, but then I also saw a clarification that the statement was misinterpreted. RMT can mean a lot of things, including microtransactions to unlock new content. Even if it means "item shop" it doesn't necessarily mean you can legitimately buy your way to the top the way you can in WoW or any other game with a vibrant gold-farming/power-leveling market. ____________________________________________ |

Why's it not "fair"? Any idiot with a computer and a lot of time on their hands can level an MMO toon. It's not like there's a chance of failure. Time is money, my friend. RMT potentially gives people with limited time a greater ability to focus on the part of the game that most interests them, without having to "grind" the parts of the game that aren't fun. What exactly do you lose because someone else got to the same level you did in a different way? There are really only two possible repercussions of this: you either have one more person you can have fun fighting AGAINST that you'd otherwise not have, in the case of PVP , or, in the case of PVE, you have one more person you can group with to tackle content at your level. As far as I'm concerned, it's all win. ____________________________________________ |

I'd prefer they make it into a single player game if they want to recreate that sort of action - that would be great. But anyone with any sense of realism and common sense knows that MMOs dont play like that, and the real thing will be far more trivial and less exciting. Single Player games for 'being the epic hero' and fast paced combat; MMOs for diversity, community and being just a face in the crowd - simple as that, i'd like to believe there could be a worthy compromise, but it seems unlikely. |

There is a source (sortof) but he is still talking out of his ass. Several months ago there was an interview where Bioware basically said that it was still to early to talk about the payment model. But all things point towards this being an ordinary p2p game. |

Why dont we just scip leveling all togehter hmm?, Its always been a hazel . Lets put up a big sign as soon as you log into the game Get your Lightsaber and cool robe here only 9.95$ and we throw in this yoda key chaine for free. Let you get out into the endgame right away, lets bash some sith all night long. Ops they got a bigger canon then us lets head back to the RMT store to get us an even bigger one to counter it....... All people who think buying virutal goods (thine Air) and fast lvling to endgame PLEASE DO AS ALL A FAVOR GO BACK TO COUNTERSTRIKE or whatever game you played before... MMOS are not for you... |

Level based, skill based, it's all the same. Some method of measuring strength and power in comparison to your foes. Even if you had a game based purely on your mental facility, you'd have masters and novices, yet another measurement of skill or intelligence. |

This trailor tells us nothing about the game. It was a neat animated sequence but it has no bearing in any excitement level I might have for the game itself. |
