So you think we should pay more because the value of our money is dropping? Or that you should pay less be cause the value of our money is dropping? If they raised pricrs in USA to accomidate eu players, plenty of people would quit. If they lower their prices in Eu they are scrooing themselves. Just tough it out. |

............ oke i will try it 1 more time .... first of all it is about eve is the most expensive game ever for europe player becouse thy can not choice to pay in USD or Euro, thy must pay in euro and the rest of the world can pay in USD.
sec eve online is not doing pounds 14.95 Britse ponds (24.15 usd) or 14.95 CNY (2.19 USD).
i think you are missing my point a little.
value of the valuta is different that is just how it is. but if you 2 valuta's to pay whit it is bullshit to give tham the same value and let 1 country in the world pay different. (this is fucking players and that is my point)
hoop you understand now and don't think west europe is rich or have something for free (how stupit is that). |

The boost of the quality of life provided by 14 dollars in Brazil is very different than the the boost of the quality of life provided by same amount of money in most countries of the Euro zone. It is actually more expensive for a Brazilian to play the game, even though he is paying the same price in dollars. Either way, that doesn't matter at all. As long as there are europeans willing to pay that price they won't make it any cheaper. |

European Union E-commerce Directive 2002/38/EC, Regulation 792/2002 stipulates that all EU residents must pay a Value Added Tax (VAT) on electronically supplied services including online games. CCP is thus obligated to add a VAT on all payment transactions for customers living within the EU. In case OP missed this one ------------------------------------------------------------ |

LOl, I knew the EU had the VAT but I wasn't sure if it applied to online games. There you go OP. Now go and complain to your EU overlords about how much it costs to fly internet spaceships. I didn't have much sympathy for you to begin with anyway. Being from Canada, I've had to pay in US dollars for years and until recently (1 US $= about 90 cents CDN today and a CDN $ was actually worth more than a US $ for a bit last year) our money has been worth less than the US, so I always paid more. Well, it is kind of getting out of hand tho, I mean if I order from Amazon I don't pay more in Euro than in USD ... I pay a little for conversion and I pay a bit more for shipping, but thats it ... The problem is that the game is pretty good, and people are happy to pay the price :p

Also it not OCC its CCP. Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981 |

meh. lets compare euros, usd to every other currency available in europe and how easy it is to get those in countries that have them. compare to places where people might not even have electricity. what they gonna do? you cant expect devs to make payment different for every country that exists in the world. |

Okay, look.. disclaimer time.. I fail at economics. I once had to ask how many cents was in a dollar and to make matters worse, I was in Mexico at the time .. and even I know that this thread is a complete non-issue. Exchange rates ebb and flow; that's just the way the world works. There's been no increase in the EU subscription price, so it doesn't cost any more over here than it used to, just as it doesn't cost any less in the US than it did six months ago. |

(ISK) However, since the ingame currency is also named ISK, you can indeed pay Eve with the local currency. to the OP: Get a credit card, buy your gametime cards from online shops for dollars, get it per mail, don't pay any taxes, VAT or other stuff and enjoy your cheap GTC. |

I looked at this yesterday. Yes it was cheaper to buy a gamecard online BUT the postage turned out to be just as expensive as the cost of the card when posted to the UK.
I'll post this again seeing as nobody seemed to notice it: UK monthly prices - Wow = £8.99 LOTRO = £8.99 EVE = £13+ For a niche small time game they should be giving incentives to encourage more subscribers not turning them away... |

At today's exchange rates your paying around $15 US for both WoW and LOTRO and around $21 US for EVE. I don't know why EVE is more expensive in GB tbh. It might have something to do with the servers being physically located in London but I'm just guessing. Still, if you think EVE is too expensive then either stop playing or make enough money in game to buy PLEX and play for free. OH MY GOD WE'RE SURROUNDED! SEND FOR BACKUP! DIG IN DEFENSIVE POSITIONS!
