Right now i got 3 high level Chars (3x, 3x & 4x) on China servers (i live in Asia) , and the game is becoming unplayable.    How did it happen ?

Basicly me and my chinese guildies can hardly PvP, gather resources, or simply kill quest mobs , because we 're facing -legions- of bots using speed hacks.

I thought NCsoft learned about Lineage botting, but it seems it's the opposite. The hacks & bots programs can only get even more performant until the western release. that's gonna be a complete joke unless something is done to prevent them.

Shame because Aion is probably the best mmorpg to hit the market for a looooong time :(

 

I hope when NA Aion releases they ensure that other foreign IP's cant play on our servers.

Do you know what a proxy is?

Absolutely anyone who has played Lineage II for any length of time will know exactly how NCSoft US will deal with bots in Aion.

They won't.

They allowed them to destroy that game, and i've seen  nothing to suggest Aion will be any different.

I really hope i'm proved wrong. I played the beta and it seems like an excellent game.

That is funny. Cheating being a culturally accepted pastime in China? I hope not ...

I reckon there are tons of Chinese just playing the game and being fed up with those bots just like we would.

I can hardly imagine them laughing over getting beaten by some speedhacking exploiter. Too bad I can't read Chinese and check out their forums to read what they think of this.

I really wonder how the Aion conglomerate will deal with this in a broader scale. I really don't fancy playing a game which has a softer approach to cheaters in general. If it is indeed a rampant problem like the OP describes.

I will wait and see a bit after EU/NA launch to see how this pans out.

I guess you missed the Beijing Olympics where they were putting up "fake buildings" to hide the slums.

thats not cheating, and they where not "fake buildings" they where empty building cos no one could afford them

And since when does the goverment show how the chinese community is like.your just arrogant.

if there is ip block on NA Aion there will a lot of gamers who will pull out of the game.international clans play together as a whole nowadays.

example,my clan have a lot of eu and usa gamers as well as other gamers from asia(like malaysian,singapore,taiwan,australia,thailand,phillipines etc) and we have decided to play together in na server version.if aion is gonna be region block then we will all quit aion and wait for other mmo.

china does have a culture of accepting botting in their mmo so u cannot compare them to na version.i know  ncsoft will deter botters and hackers more aggressively than china aion.of course if they do not then a lot of gamers will pull out of aion after a few months instead of long term playing it. :)

big deal.. complain all you want but whether they do or not wont change the fact that it's going to do decently well and IS doing well in Asia so *shrug* fans win ^^

Oh and bots don't destory the game at least none i have played. They've always been around and while they can be annoying or influence the game economy it doesn't change the core of a game really. Sounds like you're just trying to hate, bots are everywhere and to most people they go unnoticed and people just don't care. Wow has bots no one cares, guild wars has bots, no one cares... complain if you want but *shrug* no one will listen because it doesn't really matter.

What about the effect of botting on Lineage 2, did that not change the core of the game?  There is no better example than this when it comes to games ruined by botting.   No other games ever even approached the scope of economic dissaster in Lineage 2.  These are the same people, so of course people are going to sound the alarm!  What will they do this time around?  I hope they do something, because that would be more than they've done against botting in Lineage 2.  

Guild Wars?  WoW?  The economy in those games is the picture of perfect health compared to L2.

Me too, since I came from one of the games that supposedly thiis game won't be for me. So far I am loving it, and most of the stuff I've been reading on what to expect later on in levels seems pretty exciting.

Except it's actually NCSoft distributing the game over here in NA and it's a 3rd party distributor in China. How can you compare? The bright side is you won't see any game breaking bugs making it over here. NCSoft's goal with this game is to break in and take over the western MMO market, thats why it's the least grindy, most quest based theme park mmo coming from asia to date.

I'll give you that, but Lineage 2 - it was always 2-3 months for them to deploy Korean patches in the US, sometimes longer.

I wouldn't expect much difference in the NA version of Aion from the Asian version.   NCSoft doesn't really give a rip about the NA version of an Asian created and based game.  Look at Lineage II as an example of an game from Asia being released in the US.  It is full of bots, hacks and cheats.

Lets hope for the best :)

It maybe more quest based but it's still just as boring as any asian grind game, the quest are still the same so it's really no different if you look at it that way..

The game isn't boring, but there is a huge GRIND!

By your definition, every western game with Quests are major Grind games too!
